Here are the K&N cleaning instructions from the factory.

    http://www.knfilters.com/cleaning.htm

I've used K&N filters on many of my bikes and they are designed to be cleaned and re-used. I have never used their cleaning solution, but I aways use their filter oil after cleaning.

I don't mean to sound like an ad, but K&N is a high perfromance filter that breathes better than virtually any stock filter, foam or paper. With good maintenance you should get 5 - 10 years of use from one filter.

You need the K&N recharge kit. Don't use any other product on that filter.

K&N Recharge Kit includes their soap along with instructions.

Wash out the filter in engine degreaser, dry thoroughly and re coat with K&N filter oil and it should last for years.

K&N sells rechargeing kits for filters.

    don't throw it away.

don't even try to clean it , just change it ! that's where a lot of your power comes from and a dirty one can interfere with a lot of problems that might might happen to your bike
