I have a 2003 Chevy 2500HD with the Duramax engine. One of the batteries (right side) keeps leaking acid out of the caps. I've cleaned and tightened the terminals, twice, with no change in the overflow. What should I test or look for to find and solve this problem.

Although I'm just a shade tree mechanic I've had 40+ years of repairing, rebuilding, and making my shade tree stuff work.

I just got a pair of BT021 Bridgestones The tires have markings (yellow dots and small blue stripes) reminiscent of euro tire markings for balancing the tire/wheel. Do these markings indicate the heaviest part of the tire, or the lightest part of the tire?

Should the marks be opposite the fill valve or next to the valve?

I've been checking swine flu stats on the CDC website and Illinois is leading the nation in confirmed cases. This was not predicted by health authorities and seems inconsistent with adjoining states.

Why are the numbers so high for Illinois?

I need new shocks for a 2003 2500HD Silverado. Are there any twin shock conversion kits for the front end with stock suspension? The truck has after market torsion bar cams (pork chops) to make more room for bigger tires/wheels, but everything else is stock.

I'd like to hear about brands and get some links.

I've been hearing about the fires in Big Sur, California. Does anyone know if the Monarch grove in Big Sur has been affected by the fires. Also, if the grove has fire damge how might that effect the annual migration of this remarkable butterfly.

I've had this satellite clock for several years and it always re-set to the correct time when Daylight Savings Time occurred. This time it didn't. So I set the time manually but then a few minutes later, it did a handshake with a satellite and the time display was an hour off again. I've tried to set the correct time on several ocassions over the last couple of weeks but the satellite resets the clock back to the non DST. Whats with that?

A couple of years ago I found a great website that had excellent step by step instructions on how to lace and true a rim. Can anyone refer me to a good site with these instructions?
