So Christians, did you enjoy painting Fertility Eggs for the Goddess called Eostre?
The Germanic Goddess of Springtime Reckoning, Eostre...
She wants me to thank you for all the lovely Pysanka (fertility eggs) you all painted for her.
What did YOU think you were doing???
The term "Easter" is simply an English translation of Eostre... who is a pre-christian Germanic Goddess, as stated above.
The practice of painting eggs is Greek... they are called Pysanka and they are prayer-gifts to ask the Goddesses for fertility in the home.

It is true, as symbols of fertility, eggs have been used throughout time to represent new life. I would say this is the reason Christians have "Easter eggs". Easter for us is to celebrate the Resurrection. The new life offered to the faithful.
Yes, I love to paint Easter eggs! My favorite is pastels with sparkles. :)

Easter is set by the first full moon after the vernal equinox. This is the one day in the year when day and night are roughly equal!
It varies by more than a month over the years and so it simply cannot represent the date of anyone's death!!!
It is in fact a combination of several pagan festivals most notably the spring festival.
The name Easter comes from “Eastre” an Anglo-Saxon pagan goddess. Even the Chinese have the festival of Ching Ming where flowers and sweets are put on their ancestors graves!!
The egg and the rabbit are symbols of springtime and rebirth!
Fun to watch the Christians worshiping a pagan festival though - makes it just like Christmas when they do the same thing!!!

The Easter Egg has no Christian basis. You may also be surprised to know that for the majority of the 2 to 3 % of Christians in India's population of over 1 Billion people, the easter egg or for that matter Santa Claus have no relevance. Both these commercial approaches are essentially from the western nations. There are ofcourse the very small minority in Indian cities who are familiar with these and treat their children to easter eggs at easter time.

I'm a heathen / pagan. I would have loved to paint eggs this past Ostara, but just didn't get to it.
But I did do a blot and did a toast to Eostre, as many of my kin have.
Hail the Aesir! Hail the Vanir! Hail the Disir!

Genuine salvation
The Christianity are celebrating Holy Week without understanding its significance. If you celebrate Holy week and then re-anact what Jesus Christ, the Begotten Son in the Jewish setting, has done, were you freed from the serpent seed?
You don't have to be physically crusified. He was there first of all.The issue remains:is the serpent seed virus still with you?
That's the meaning of salvation,of resurrection is that will begin to live a new life. All of these religious leaders are mouthing new life without giving the real key to having a new life, which is the eradication of the serpent seed within man.we cannot have a new life unless the serpent seed is eradicated in us What's the use of observing Holy Week when you do not see the purpose why He came and was crusified on the cross? The Resrrection would be in vain if
He were not able to produce a Son of God is here.I am
now entrusted with that salvation, being the appointed Son of God The Father's work of salvation has been completed
on april 13,2005 Salvation is now in the hands of the Appointed Son of God.If you believe in my message
,you will be save.If you will not believe.pls check www.kingdomofjesuschrist.org from Rev.Apoolo c.Quiboloy.

I didn't paint any eggs, I got the plastic ones at the store.
We got it so the kids could have a little fun, nothing to do with pagan gods. In fact we ask them what the real meaning of Easter was before they had the Easter egg hunt. And they all answer to remember the resurection of Jesus.

The tradition of painting eggs is not exclusively Greek. Pysanka is a Slavic word and it means "colorful", or "written over".
The evidence of painting eggs goes as far as neolithic, when people were dyeing eggs red with their blood or yellow with saffron or ochra.
Message me if you want more detail, I researched easter fertility rites till my head hurt! ;)

I would like to thank you for pointing out how easy was the task of merging old, pagan rituals into the pageantry and joy of Christianity.
But... were you trying to play it the other way? So sorry. Just going with the obvious.
and somebody here will eventually point out that the tradition was begun 80 thousand years ago as eggs were pickled in vinegar and spices for preservation, which changed their shells' color.
goddess indeed. Have you always been this silly?

I didnt paint any eggs and can you tell me more about your goddess?
I thought so, our congregation have learned this and yes I let my kids have their little fun but we didnt praise your goddess but did praise our GOD and JESUS and I enjoyed my Communion. I think all the holidays are indeed pagan ex Fathers Day and Thanksgiving and A very special Day in September.
