    Too damn much. $3.15 a gallon for the cheap sh-t in Kansas. Minimum wage here only about $7.00/hr. The next person to tell me that the war in Iraq is about oil is gonna get b-tch slapped.

    Source(s): The biggest reason you'll find for the huge difference in gas prices around the U.S. is not higher demand, but state and local taxes. In other words Exxon isn't going to charge more for a gallon of gas in Texas than they would in North Dakota. Why else would a oil producing state like California have such high gas prices? State and local taxes...
