Is there anyone in this R&S forum who was responsible for putting Christian values into law because...?
I keep reading scoffers in this forum complaining that they are tired of us Christians forcing our beliefs into darn near every aspect of their lives.
1.The're supposed to be the all logical ones.(wags head from left to right)
2.Are they too weak with no backbone to controll their own direction?
SERIOSLY WHO IN THIS FORUM PASSED CHRISTIAN VALUES INTO LAW AS TO FORCE OUR VIEWS UPON THEM.
Simply too weak to go for legislation but prance around and vent here......very practical I hope this is the only problem in life that is dealt with in such a manner as to reaching a resolution if not ya in trouble.

I don't usually answer this type of a Q, because it is too volatile and too open to just plain visciousness. But God put it on my heart to answer here. And I'm in agreement. But something occurred to me:
Actually, many of the 'laws' have nothing to do with Christianity. They were set down long before Jesus walked.
Not killing
Not lying
Not stealing
Not plotting
The sacredness and honoring of family (father, mother, husband, wife)
Etc.
And the word God, translates to all languages and belief systems of faith, it doesn't signify a 'Christian' attitude (oh I know there are those who love to argue and debate - but, please, get the larger picture here).
Once again, people like to focus rage & fear and take it out on this group or that group. That's a learned societal behavior we pass on generation to generation (and sports arenas are great places to begin to foment this type of crowd separation)
Seems to me, that it appears that if you want something done politically, get the most money together you can with the most connected people you can and there you have it - a law. Laws usually come AFTER not before - laws are also used to satisfy agendas.
So BLAMING anyone for anything is silly. I've got to take responsibility for my thoughts, my motives, my intentions, my actions and the impact my actions, thoughts, motives and intentions have on the group of humanity as a whole. If we all did this with a little more self-discipline, there would be a huge shift, with little to no effort, and Qs like these wouldn't be necessary. Yes necessary - most just like to not think deeply, but spout off the first rabble rousing thing that comes to mind and really think that is the truth at the core of their being. This is strictly my opinion. Thumbs down have no impact on me. Reporting this has no impact on me. So have at it, and while you're at it, have a wonderful God-filled day (what you think about it or do with it is not my concern - I'm just letting you have it)
Peace be to us all
And I guess Charles Dickens was just a horrible writer when he had Tiny Tim "God Bless Us All".....
Thanks for the Q I thought I'd never answer :)

By posting here we try to increase the general awareness about our predicament, which would in turn result in people thinking a little before voting into government the kind of folks that like to make religious laws applicable to everyone.

Well actually every christian is responsible for christian values. Or would you contend that not every Nazi was a bad guy or responsible for the death of Jews? I'm not saying christians are Nazis (but Nazis were chrisitans) but you are responsible for what your group does.
As for trying to change laws, about 80% of the US is chrisitan. So that means any christian based vote will get around 75% aproaval. So it's not as easy as just saying "Oh here's a law I made".

Actually non-Christians were the first to do this via Roe vs. Wade, which made it legal for women to murder their pre-term babies.
And aren't THEY also the ones trying to force THEIR agenda into law by making same-sex marriage legal?
So who's REALLY pushing their views into law!

I don't know W's avatar, but he does it all the time. I fought as hard as I legally could over that stem cell ban but,he gets to pass the laws.

Democracy is a difficult concept for you to understand?
Decisions are made by politicians. Politicians get their jobs after a majority has voted for them.
It's not that hard to figure out, really.

Well, some of us work hard to keep the law the way it is and to get rid of a bad S. Ct. decision or two...
Aviator, we each get one vote. Sour grapes!

It was the 99% of politicians who were Christian. They like to pretend they include everyone, but they don't really. For exmaple, our money says "In God We Trust". That doesn't really include me now does it? Why have anything about religion written on our money? If they wanted to include everyone, they would leave that out.
Our country isn't about majority rules, it is about representation to include everyone....EVERYONE.
Edit: ruth, voting isn't to determine laws. As I said, we aren't a majority rules society. We didn't vote to see if poeple wanted to end segregation. We realized that we were treating one group of poeple differently then another, which is against the constitution. It doesn't matter what the voters wanted at the time.

YES, I..a Christian in Canada, marched to the USA and made all those terrible laws that they have to live by...like don`t steal, kill, or cheat your neighbour. If you want to get married and your gay come to Canada..it`s not a issue here.

Can homosexuals marry in the United States?
No? That is forcing your beliefs on society.
