How has the GWS forum changed since you joined? Has it got better or has it deteriorated? Do you feel that it has changed your outlook in any way?
(If nothing else it has certainly expanded my vocabulary!)

Wow! Finally a question well thought out and with purpose! All my respect to the Honourable Mr. Celtish.
And so far, some of the brightest and best of the forum supplying insightful and valid responses. It sets my heart all aflutter!
All joking aside; My opinion is that the forum hasn't really changed since I began following it nearly 5 months ago. Only some of the names have come and gone, with new personalities entering all the time, while others leave for possibly greener pastures. There are intelligent, well thought out questions and answers, innane and vapid questions and answers, and there are fun, silly, and irreverant questions and answers that bring a new meaning to satire and humor at times. I relish that particular genre.
It is my opinion that it hasn't gotten better or deteriorated in general, but simply remains a forum for display of one's opinions, ideas, and beliefs no matter how wacky they may be. I am one who abhors the "reporting and deleting" activities that go on here, however. I would much more appreciate a truly free forum where I can read others' posts, and respond without repercussion, and in turn expect my ideas and beliefs to be challenged and assaulted when necessary.
As for changing my outlook, it is my firm belief that each and every exchange of ideas, no matter how ingenious, or how banal, leads to education if you are open minded.
Anyway, I'm happy, Mr. Celtish, that this forum has expanded your vocabulary! You sir, are a shining star in this community, and you have decided to let it improve you as a person no matter how trivial it may be in reality.
Be well all, and for God's sake, take pity on the poor, frail, scared little animals that continue to step in our paths here daily.
Oh...and spydergt488...the word you are looking for is misogyny; the opposite of misandry! Keep up the good fight brother, and be safe always.

When I first looked on here it was called women's studies, which caused a real rucus between the genders. I'm glad they changed that at least, but from what i can see it hasn't really changed at all since I gave up looking and posting on GWS (which was well over a year ago). I have concluded yet again, it's best to leave these things to the people that really care enough to waste time and breath (or typed words at least) on arguments that can't be won, especially on an internet forum with a lot of angry banter flying left, right and centre.
Maybe i'll come back in a year to see the same arguments and banter circulating... But then I may have better things to do, which is more likely!

How do you think the GWS forum has changed since you joined?
I don't think so. Some people who I don't' agree with in general have gained my respect (e.g. Flyinghorse, TERA, Charis and some others) whereas others just seem like kids who want to have a silly rant and don't make much sense.
How has the GWS forum changed since you joined? Has it got better or has it deteriorated?
Swings and roundabouts. You lose an Object but you gain a Killer Tomato. The unfair deletions issue remains the biggest problem.
Do you feel that it has changed your outlook in any way?
Yes. It's opened my eyes to the fact that there so many men and women out there who understand the issues I have with the feminist movement. Socially and professionally it can be a very bad move to discuss these issues openly ("You have the right to free speech, as long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it") so its great to see the silent masses speak openly for once. Also its great to challenge feminists on some of the problems of feminism and hear what they have to say.

It hasn't changed that much. Some days are very friendly (Easter was), but most days, it's the same: Man-bashing, woman-bashing, counter-bashing, opinion polls on which gender is better.
I personally would prefer it to cease to be a report/block war zone and a place for free and open debate. People just find it so hard to accept that their views may not always be right.
It has changed my outlook somewhat, but not to a great extent, as I was non-feminist before I came here.

Listen, I have had people literally turn their backs on me. I've been ripped and torn apart so much were it all real I would still be bleeding from all the wounds inflicted; for what being different. Still I will hold on to my belief in that we are not equal and that there is no reason to feel inferior about it. That's my thing and you have yours.

When I came just a few months ago people were pretty reasonable...then more radical views came from both directions about feminism and now is seems as though people have said "to hell with it"....entertaining none the least.

It's deteriorated. So many of the cool feminists have left, and trolls are growing in number almost exponentially.

it seems much more recycled now than i ever felt before. Also, it seems the posters are younger and younger, or at the very least, the answers and questions are much less thought out, poorly worded, and more people seem more close minded than ever.
but, i guess the majority of the intellectuals gave up fighting the good fight, and left the rest of us on our own. we see where that has gotten us....

I have seen that there's quite a number of male apologists who actually beleive that women were treated oh-so badly in the past, while completely able to ignore that men had issues to contend with too. They're as bad as the feminist myths themselves.

Changed? The first time I came here it was a cess pool of ideological nonsense disconnected from what is naturally known, and populated by scientific illiterates.
It has not changed at all!!
