how do you feel about whites no longer being the majority in 60 years?

On August 28, 2008, an article said that the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) released a survey showing that Proposition 8 to amend the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same sex couples to marry would be defeated 54% to 40%. The vote was actually 47.8% to 52.2%, and Prop. 8 passed. California Supreme Court Justice Joyce Kennard voted that the right to marry was protected under California's Constitution in May 2008, but voted against reviewing the lawsuits challenging Prop. 8. A retired UC Berkeley law professor and longtime observer of the court said "It's always hard to read tea leaves, but I think Justice Kennard is saying that she thinks the constitutionality of Prop. 8 is so clear that it doesn't warrant review," while a San Francisco lawyer and former staff attorney at the court said that for those seeking to overturn Prop. 8, "I would not think it would be encouraging." In August 2008, so many people were certain that Prop. 8 would fail that they quit fighting for it... and the feeling that Prop. 8 will be overturned is unwarranted until after the Court has made an official decision.

It doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

However, the concept of a "white" minority in the US is hyperbolic. For a long time to come "whites" will be the largest self identifying group in the US among a plurality of many other, shifting self-identifying groups.

It is true "whites" as a group, which is a cultural oxymoron in itself, will no longer have a majority in relationship to the *combination* of all of the other groups in the US.

Doesn't really bother me. Also-- That doesn't say that whites will be in the minority, anyway. Just that they won't be in the majority... they could still be the largest group and not be over 50% of the population. This is already the case in California.

Well I personally am not too concerned :) and just wanna go with the flow :D. Besides, i bet native americans werent too thrilled about whites coming over with small pox and other diseases :-/. Hey, at least the next racial majority isnt carrying a disease :D

I'm White am I supposed to jump for joy about this? Only anti- White Liberals are happy about this. The Left has been tring to make White-Americans a minority for the last 45 years.

im not immigration is killing our country......

economically(real estate, ect.) and illegal immigrants our stealing jobs from americans and actual citizens........I say we put a wall between us and mexico...canada doesnt give us many problems as much as mexico....just have some men on the wall with guns just in case...its the only way to stop immigration
