Bible verse help! Best Answer points?

Pslam 59.2, "Deliver me from the work of iniquity, and save me from bloody men".

Any good guesses to what he's talking about?

Many other translations, but I'll go with this so far.

Any help will do!

Iniquity has to do with sin and transgression and in this case - probably more the latter. Bloody men with those who (willingly) commit them with the possibility of whatever things might be "bloody".

Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright.

And if God had destroyed men for their iniquity, He would not leave on the earth a single creature, but He respites them till an appointed time; so when their doom will come they shall not be able to delay (it) an hour nor can they bring (it) on (before its time).

from David regarding the time Saul sent soldiers to watch Davids house in order to kill him.(59.1 Rescue me from my enemies.O God.Protect me from those who have come to kill me.

    2. Rescue me from these criminals, save me from these murderers.

3They have set an ambush for me.fierce enemies are out there waiting, Lord though I have not sinned or offended them.)

This is from the "New Living Translation." I really like it as it is a lot easier for me to understand.

This is a reference to Saul sending out assassins to murder David. David is asking God to protect him from these men who would kill him. Murder is iniquity and "bloody men" are men sent to kill.

  • (Psalm 59:2) Deliver me from the practicers of what is hurtful, And from bloodguilty men save me.

It's David's plea to be delivered from *workers* of iniquity, and bloody men.

It's a plea to be delivered from evil people.

(Psalm 52:9) 9 I will laud you to time indefinite, for you have taken action; And I shall hope in your name, because it is good, in front of your loyal ones.

"Save me from wickedness, and from wicked men" is pretty much what I get from that.

"Preserve me from these criminals, these murderers". That is from the living bible.
