How can I delete my Yahoo! Answers account?
It's getting quite old now, and all I seem to have for my time is pointless violation notices. I'd be very grateful if you could tell me as to how I can go about deleting it.
Thank you so much for your help :)

don't let those violations get to you. why don't you just take a break from yahoo answers, like a week , or a month, whatever you need, and later on if you decide that you want to come back now, it will still be here waiting for you. my husband goes months at a time sometimes without even looking at this site, but when he's ready to come bavk, he doesn't have to set up a new account and he still has his contacts. i will miss you if you go.......hope you reconsider.

As has already been said, you will be missed if you go. We all hope you change your mind. Everyone is getting needless violations, but you basically just have to blow them off and not let them get to you. If you get suspended, you are basically at the spot where you are trying to go by deleting your account. Then you can just start over with a new one. Many have done that.
Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be what is best for you.
I'll probably get a violation for this extremely chatty answer, but I don't care.

No, please don't leave! If you are being targeted by trolls, just give it a rest for a while, and create a new account to use Y!A. (I find it hard to believe you are being targeted though because everybody likes you).
I don't think you can delete your Answers account. All you can do is make your Q and A private, disable email etc, don't allow fans, select the 'no avatar' option, remove any personal details, and change your screen name to something meaningless.
Even if Yahoo terminated your account, your questions and answers would still exist - they are the property of Yahoo and cannot be deleted. You can't ask Yahoo to terminate your account though, they only terminate accounts that persistently or seriously violate the Community Guidelines.
Don't do something naughty to get terminated though because then there is a risk that they would terminate all your Yahoo accounts including email!

hi hun . i felt like this at the weekend ,it seems i have gone as far as i can with yahoo ,i've been here for 18 months now and have run out of questions and answers,i'm sick of getting violations for silly things when so many on here are overlooked, but then i thought why should i just leave ,i have made many friends on here and most of the time i enjoy it ,i know the most popular people on here are victims from jealousy you being one of them , my suggestion would be to open another account let your current account go (don't delete it) and just start again , From your nice questions and answers your fans and contacts will find you again ,don't let the them win good luck on starting again if thats what you choose to do ,take care x

click there and edit your account information
you will be asked to sign in to verify your password for
the account you want to delete.
When you terminate your account, you permanently lose all saved data and Yahoo site access associated with your ID. You’ll be deleting your email account, address book, group memberships, Y! Answers account, Y! Messenger ID, any photos you’ve uploaded, any 360 blogs you’ve posted, etc.
I will be sorry to see you go. Because your were a breath of fresh air to this site. And everybody love you. For myself I am to ! plagued with pointless violation notices. Whatever happens I wish you all the best and keep happy !! and keep in your calm and joyful centre always!!!…….. May you always have enough happiness to keep you sweet enough trials to keep you strong; enough success to keep you eager; enough faith to give you courage; enough determination to make each day a good day.
Wish you good luck…….. from skycat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

argh :( prodigal son don't leave!,just carry on don't worry about the violations & suspensions we all get them
you are a really nice person and give post great questions and answers,it would suck for you to leave :(
=========
but if you have made up your mind then:
to delete your yahoo! answers account you must delete your whole yahoo ID
=====
to do so go to this link and follow the prompts to delete your yahoo! ID:
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_use...
READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
========
if you wish to keep your ID but no longer wish to use answers then the next best thing to deletion is:
-remove your screen name
-remove your avatar
-remove the options to e-mail or IM you
-remove the link to your 360 page
-remove any information from your answers profile
-make your Q&A private
-delete all contacts & fans
-stop allowing people to add you
-stop coming to yahoo answers
NOTE: all of your questions & answers that are in voting or resolved will not be deleted they will stay here forever unless yahoo! remove them for violation
all the best

Every one is getting violations for no good reasons, It is just a phase and will pass same as the spammers. It would be sad to see you go as you are always kind and polite. Try to stick it out, your contributions to Yahoo are valuable. Don't let the trolls get to you, this is just the kind of reaction they are hoping to achieve.
