Religion and Spirituality Music exploration ok?

I love Rilo Kiley too (thus the avatar), and I must say Better Son/Daughter is one of my favorites. I also like the songs More Adventurous, It's a Hit and (ironically seeing how we're on R&S) The Absence of God. Jenny Lewis's solo stuff (with those creepy twins) is pretty good too.

Lately I've been listening to a group called the Cold War Kids, who are pretty cool, and of course Vampire Weekend like everyone else on the planet.

My all-time favorites are Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Elton John, and Ben Folds and it's impossible for me to pick an all-time favorite song. (Closest to all-time favorite song would be either Martha or Tom Traubert's Blues by Tom Waits.)

Just for reference, I am a Christian evolved ape. I listen to

60's rock, particularly The Who and the Kinks

Punk, primarily The Ramones, Buzzcocks, Bad Religion, The Descendants, Green Day and NOFX

I've been making my own music, and that's been almost all I've been listening to recently. Logic, where have you been all my life?

In between, though, Tori Amos, Ella Fitzgerald, some Led Zeppelin, a little MF Doom, the Dining Rooms, Quantic, Wax Tailor, Scorn, etc etc.

It might be gay to listen to Tori Amos, but I seriously think she's the greatest single musician of our times. Ella - come on, nothing even needs to be said. Led Zep are simply the greatest rock band ever. MF Doom, my favorite MC ever.

My answer to several of your Qs would have to be that, sadly, I don't listen to much new music. I'm stuck in a time warp, I guess. Classic rock & Chicago blues are my faves.
