I suggested U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" to my fiancee as our "first dance" song, and she

was mad at me. I've been a U2 fan my whole life, and that's my favorite song... isn't she being unreasonable here?

I hope this is joke. I don't think that any guy would be that tacky to suggest that song. But just on the off chance this isn't a joke (God help your fiance), try another U2 song. My husband and I both love the "with or without you" by U2, but it wasn't appropiate for a first dance song. Instead, we played "beautiful day" at the end of the ceremony.

Fraid she's not the one being unreasonable. I don't blaim her for being mad. I'm mad and I don't even know you.

Can you imagine the crowd as you are dancing the first dance of your married life and the loudspeakers are blaring that you still haven't found what you're looking for?!

I am horrifed that you would even suggest that song.

If you absolutely MUST, find an instrumental version. It is a lovely melody.

Come on man are you serious? The lyrics are the most important part of the song in this situation. This is the best website Ive found with many suggestions for songs for all of the special moments of your wedding. http://www.ourweddingsongs.com./ Let Bono have a night off since this is about the love between you and your bride, not your love of U2.

    Nope, shes not being unreasonable.

Find a different U2 song thats about love & you both can relate to.

If my favorite song was "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth, I still wouldnt suggest it as a first dance song.

    Use your head.

No, she's not. A wedding is not a celebration of your favorite band and your favorite song, it's a celebration of your life-long commitment to each other. The first dance song should reflect this. If you must have U2, pick a song that's more appropriate.

i wouldn't want to dance to that title as my first song either..... maybe there's another u2 song that would be more fitting to being in love and staring a life together over "i still haven't found what i'm looking for"?

thats an awesome song, but I think she has a point, its not exactly first dance material, personally I think thats like having your first dance to "How Great Thou Art" or something. Maybe if you let her know how much it means to you to have a U2 song, you could suggest something more appropriate like "The Sweetest thing" "Slow Dancing" "Spanish Eyes" or a more love-themed song.

I still like my first dance suggestion of Love Will Tear us Apart by Joy Division. And I'm glad that my friends aren't stuck up little twats like your fiancee and can appreciate my mad DJ skillz.

Suggest "You Are So Beautiful To Me" instead - she'd accept this one! The U2 sound isn't acceptable at all.
