righteous indignation vs. intolerance?
why have we allowed righteous indignation to be classified as intolerance? For instance just because I think something is wrong doesn't mean that I am intolerant of those who do it. Maybe what they do is just wrong. Why must we tolerate something that we know is wrong...do we not have a duty to be indignant?
I have read 2 Chronicles 19:6

With political correctness and situational ethics being the rage, judging, discerning or rejecting ANY person, thought or action is now deemed wrong, hateful and bigotry. In other words, it's all good....and if it's not, you are intolerant.

you're intolerant when you think that your specific SUBJECTIVE morality (such as gambling is evil, homosexuality is evil, drinking is evil, not being white is evil etc) is absolute and are completely unwilling to even HEAR the other side. (note that I'm not implying that you necessarily ascribe to any of these beliefs. They are only examples of how such beliefs can be a form of intolerance)
This is especially the case if you live in a SECULAR NATION and are attempting to FORCE OTHERS to live by YOUR religious standards.
That's the difference.

When what you describe as 'wrong' is their own human rights that are perfectly legal and hurt no-one, but you don't like them because of what it says in an old book, that's intolerance. And, y'know, bigotry.

just because you have a personal opinion on something does not make it wrong though
as long as it is only an opinion , you are more than welcome to that
but when your opinions start crossing over into legal and humanitarian and equality issues ... then it becomes intolerant

the ones that scream tolerance all the time are the ones that are most "intolerant" towards the people who are intolerant of sin.

Does the scripture "judge not, lest ye be judged" ring any bells?
