#4 Please list the top 100 references of the existence of the biblical jesus?
#4
I know it might be a tough question, but it's legitimate. I'd like to read the documents. Once again:
Again, the following references are three I don't accept for the following reasons:
the bible - circular references are worthless
Josephus - debunked
Tactius - debunked
If he really is the most documented person ever as people keep claiming, there should be no problem listing the top 100 references here, or pointing me to a list.
So maybe 4th time is the charm? Or the report monkeys are worried, as they should be.
I'm not looking for documentation which explores the mythology of the person of jesus, I'm looking for the purpoted documentation which would serve to prove the existence the man as someone who actually lived. Man or god, just the proof that he lived.
The first of the questions to be deleted here was titled:
"Fact is, Jesus is the most documented human being EVER" because this is the phrase that I keep seeing christians up here using. I'm just asking for some of that documentation.
Lover of God, please list your references so I can read them. Your answer isn't an answer to the question and is at risk of being removed.
Cool, I got all 4 instances of this question restored.

This list is ofcourse leaving out Justin Martyr, Hippothylus, Tertullian, Origen, and hundreds of others who lived after 100 CE
You can find most of these documents translated at Fordham's medieval sourcebook history site

I didn't see the Kerrang 100 list so I don't know if yours is better BUT I can't agree with any rock list that doesn't have Foghat in the top 100 somewhere. Foghat was one of the best rock bands ever and should be in at least the top 20! The Scorpions, The Kinks, Ten Years After, Jethro Tull, Credence Clearwater Revival, Frank Zappa, Krokus, Dokken, Tesla, and Foreigner should also be on the list before The Cars or Styx!

I'll try
100 ~ The Gospels
99 ~ The dead sea scrolls
98 ~ Pontius Pilate and him persecuting Jesus
97 ~ The Roman Empire
96 ~ ......ok, that's all I got...
but in defense of Jesus might I say that a lot of stories and theories have been debunked and yet there are still people who believe in them. The government has debunked 9/11, and yet I am a firm advocate that it was in cooperation of the US government.
or UFO's. JFK. Stone Henge..There are still a lot of mysteries in the world..Is there really any documents saying he didn't exist? Sometimes biblical scholars get dates wrong, as in the case of Moses..the dates of his and Egypt's events are not in concordance with those described in the bible. But recently it was figured out that The years were just out of place.

There is just as much proof Christ existed as there is that Plato existed. The gospels are witness testimonies, as are all historical documents. They are no less valid than other other written historical account.
The argument is sometimes used that there are no accounts of Jesus by Roman historians. Assuming this is true, the argument still holds no water, as Jesus would not have been anyone important enough to a Roman to document. To these historians way of thinking, Jesus would have been another trouble-causing Jew who was executed; and, therefore, His movements would not be important enough to record to these historians.

There is no such reference. He simply, never existed outside of a book of bronze age jewish mythology.

Well....he's in the Koran as well. Also, just about every history book has reference to Jesus as well as other well known religious figures. There are certainly more than 100 history books ever penned.

How about all of the mosaics that were found in Rome in reference to Jesus? I guess those are just imaginary.
How about all the historical accuracies to include that Pilate was indeed procurator at the time of Christ's crucifixion.
You are such a debunker.
What about all the extrabiblical accounts of an unscheduled eclipse on the day of Christ's crucifixion?
What about the hundreds of witnesses of the resurrection?
Why does the whole world believe a myth that stretches from the beginning of time? And you happen to be the genius that proves us all wrong. You are so smart.
What is smart about denying God? Defying the God who made you? You can choose to be dumb but dont ask me to join you.
