motor RPM and ratio question for DIY baby mobile?
If I buy a Worm Gear Box with motor. The 2 selectable gear ratios are: 216.1:1 and 336.1:1. And it operates at 4.5V DC. 15100 RPM...
How many rotations per minute is that? I'm looking for about 10RPM per minute

from your numbers:
15100 RPM divided by 216 = 70 RPM or a little more than 1 per second.
15100 RPM divided by 336 = 45 RPM
You might try reducing the RPM of the motor with a DC controller, or even a resistor. You may be able to reduce the speed by 2/3, and get 5000 RPM which reduces to 15 RPM.
Let me know the current draw of the motor and I can calculate a resistor.
