Credit card charges?
I have a credit card with Egg. They recently cancelled my contract with them (like 1000s of other customers). So needless to say I never spend on my Egg card. I continue to pay well over the minimum payment each month but seem to go over the agreed credit limit and get charged a fee, then I pay enough tro get within the credit limit and the same happens the following month!
Should the 'minimum payment' cover all interest charged?
Can Egg continue to charge interest on an account that they cancelled and broke the contract?
Any other tips for handling Eggs tactics?

some credit card companies play very very cute games
thge classicc one they use is if you have used your credit card to get cash... any payments you make are made to the goods you bought first, emaning they will still try and charge you the exorbitant fees for cash withdrawals.
some say you have a direct debit, but if you make another payment they decide to cancle the direct debit for that month (cheers Visa) I made a payment by cheque, which together with the minimum payment would have cleared the account.. they decided not to take the direct deboit that month....
if your minimum payemnt doesn't payy off the interest then they will be charging you interest on the interest remaining.
it may be too late now but....
never go over the limit
never withdraw cash ont he card (if you do make sure you pay it all off as soon as possible.. pay off the whole balance that month, otherwise the cash balance will remain on your credit card in perpetuity)
pay off the credit card as fast as possible...... it may require you going short for a couple of months.. but do it.. you are paying a heck of a premium to live off your credit card. the months required to act like a hermit may seem painfull, but keeping a credit card at the max is a very expensive way of living (its not an extra £n spending, its a percentage cut in your income as you have to pay the interest aswell as the cpaitla (money borrowed back))
