Loss of future earnings - personal injury (UK)?
I had an accident about 2 years ago and have been persuing a personal injury claim as a result. I am due to go to court in the next few months and need to tie up any loose ends...
My question - Can I claim for future loss of earnings even though I am still employed - As a result of my accident I had to leave my previous job (IT Trainer) and take on a lower paid job instead (Technician).
With a 2 year gap out of the IT industry I will find it very difficult to get back to an IT Trainer role and my salary will never match that of an IT Trainer.
So although I am not disabled as a result of my accident, can I still claim for the gap in my salary?
I have been using the Odgen table 1 to calculate the loss of earnings from date of trail until retirement age of 65, but do I need to apply any additional mulitpliers to this scenario?

Here in the UK you can buy an iPhone from the o2 store and you don't sign a contract. You take the phone home and sign-up online.
Is that the same in germany?

I have a BMW E36 316i. When the engine is warm there is a loud squealing noise from the engine bay. If I remove the oil cap or pull out the dip stick there is a massive contant rush of air being sucked into the engine and the squeal stops. The diapham is also split! Any ideas what it could be?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoCheap skiing holidays?
I've been trying to find a cheap skiing holiday for about a year now. It's so annoying when you see a deal saying '£299pp!!' but when you go to book it ends up more than double that with the needed extras like lift passes and ski hire etc. Anyone got any suggestions on a cheap skiing holiday flying from anywhere in UK going to ANYWHERE! Thanks!
6 AnswersSnow Skiing1 decade agoBlocked breather system on a BMW E36 causing a 'squealing' noise?
I have a BMW 3 series 316i Compact, built in 1999. I have owed the car for about 5 months. When I drive the car for a period of around 15 miles there is a squealing noise from the engine bay. I have taken the car to many different garages for their diagnosis, each garage has different conclusions.
At first I thought it was a bearing noise from the tensioner pully, alternator, water pump or something similar. I had the water pump replaced and it still makes the noise.
At the weekend a garage told me it was definatetly a blocked breather system, they removed the oil cap whilst the engine was running and this caused air to be sucked in rapidly through the open oil cap.
Further information - The noise only starts after about 10 - 15 miles of driving. It gets louder and louder as I'm driving. The noise mainly happens at idle and goes when I accelerate. The noise doesn't change tone or volume when pressing the clutch.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoScented candles next to marine setup...?
I have a salt water marine fish tank setup, it has inverts, fish, live rock and corals. Tank is 600 litres. It has a large sump and protein skimmer.
Is it safe to use scented candles in the same room as the tank? I know some scented sprays, cleaning products and deodrants can kill the fish quickly, is it the same for the candles?
PS. No offense intended, but if you don't know, don't answer.
Thanks!
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoCredit card charges?
I have a credit card with Egg. They recently cancelled my contract with them (like 1000s of other customers). So needless to say I never spend on my Egg card. I continue to pay well over the minimum payment each month but seem to go over the agreed credit limit and get charged a fee, then I pay enough tro get within the credit limit and the same happens the following month!
Should the 'minimum payment' cover all interest charged?
Can Egg continue to charge interest on an account that they cancelled and broke the contract?
Any other tips for handling Eggs tactics?
1 AnswerCredit1 decade agoWhere can I buy tempered glass from?
I am building 4 large vivariums (reptile aquariums) and need 8 panes of toughened/tempered glass @ 400x600x4mm. Can anyone tell me where I can buy this sort of glass with a 'cut-to-size' service. Online or local to Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I have already tried most of the main DIY stores like B&Q, Wickes, Focus... I have searched the internet and only found large distributors that are not suitable for my relatively small order. My local glazer is charging way over the odds and would like to source them at a competitive price.

4 AnswersSmall Business1 decade agobreeding slider turtles?
I have 3 slider turtles, all around 2 years old. Recently both of the male turtles have been 'flirting' with the female (vibrating their claws on the females head). I have been told that my turtles should not be sexually mature until 5 - 8 years old... So whats going on? Is it possible they will still mate at such a young age?
If they do mate, what do I need to do? I have heard they will need a 12inch deep area of sand to lay the eggs. They are in an indoor tank, no deep sand! Can I simply provide an area inside the tank with sand, maybe a small glass tank within the main tank?

16 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agocan dirt in the engine cause permanent damage?
I recently removed my throttle body to clean it. I didn't have time to complete the job in one night so I left the throttle body detached from the intake manifold overnight. During this time I think some dirt may have entered the engine.
When trying to start the engine it seemed fine until it started to splutter and 'pop'. When trying to rev the engine it didn't go past 1500rpm, then it started idling erratically and eventually cut-out. Now when trying to start the engine it just turns over and wont start, as if it fine but has no petrol.
My question is... If some dirt did get into the engine what can I do to get it out? will this cause permanent damage? Any ideas to sort it out?

9 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoSquealing noise on a 1999 E36 Compact?
I have a really bad sqealing noise from my engine bay. It's really high pitched and can become VERY loud at times. It only starts after about 7 - 10miles of driving. It's at it's loudest at idle and eases off when accelarating until it eventually stops at about 2500rpm. I have taken it to a couple of garages and they can't seem to find where it is coming from. The car has just had a full service. It is a 1999 BMW E36 316i Compact 1895cc.
The noise doesn't change pitch or volume when turning the steering wheel or dipping the clutch. The car does not have air conditioning. The belts have not been replaced but have had a brief check and sprayed with oil as a quick check, so although it still maybe the belt it is unlikely.
Any ideas of what it could be would be great! Thanks!!!

3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhen looking to buy a house, do you find floor plans useful?
I am conducting some market research. I would like to know if a floor plan layout would help sell a house. If you have looked through estate agent websites before, did you see any with floor plan layouts, were they useful? A simple 'Yes' or 'No' will do, but would be great if you could give a little more feedback! Thanks!
