The Divine Comedy?
I have read this book, but the problem that I having is for school. The question asked is what movies have been inspired by this book and what specific images or story lines suggest this influence? I do not own a TV nor do I go to movies very often. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It gets horribly mis-represented in Seven. At one stage Morgan Freeman's character is shown reading Inferno, in which is a pictoral representation of Purgatory.
