If someone was convicted of a 1st degree murder in San Diego, Cal, where would they be sent to prison?

Partically, a man named Sean Goff. I knew him and would like to write to him for personal reasons. I have his cdc#, birthdate and full name but, I need the Institutions Name and the P.O. Box Housing number. There is a number of California Prison that I could call but it is long distance and I can't do it. So if there is another way, someone let me know.

And before anyone lectures me about contacting a murderer, like I said I have known him since I was 15 and I have personal reasons and issues that I need to resolve with him.

If anyone has any info please share.

Also I would like to know what 29 to life means. That is what he got for killing his wife. Actually the 29 part is what I don't understand. If he got life how does 29 more or less years effect the sentence?

I believe every State has a Public Information file, which tracks felons.

Use your computer and check it out.

    California Penal System................Inmate name...etc.,

29 - life.....eligible for a Parole Hearing after I believe 15 years, but this is subject to the State Guidelines.

Where he would be sent, would be up to the department of corrections. Chances are they have a website where you can find the info you need, if you can't call long distance, they may even have a toll free number. I know Calpatria is near San Diego, but he may not be there.

29 to life means it will be a minimum of 29 years before he will even be considered for parole. The parole board can decide he has learned his lesson, or that he is still a threat and needs to be there for life, there are far too many factors that can work for or against him, such as his prison record ( is he a model inmante and stay out of trouble). Best of luck.

I will explain the 29 for you. As for where in Cal they will send him . Thats a million dollar question . Sing Sing Maybe . But about the 29 . It's really very simple. His sentence was 29 years to life . Which means he is eligible for parole after 29 years but if he screws up they can keep him for the rest of his life. Good luck in finding him .

I have heard Pelican Bay mentioned as one of the most secure facilities in Ca.

29 to life means he can get out on parole or good behavior.

29 to life means that he can apply for parole after twenty nine years but they don't have to give it to him if they don't think he is rehabilitated enough.
