Indoor activities for a 3 month old?
I am a stay at home mom with a baby who is almost 3 months and am wondering if anyone has some fun, stimulating indoor activities we can do. It is not warm enough here to go outside to play yet.
I have a playmat with toys that hang down and I read to him, I have a book of colors I show him, I also have some rattles. I do tummy time with him but he only likes it for a little while. What else can I do that would be fun and stimulating for him at the same time?
I am also going to start a gymboree class with him in a week but that will only be once a week.
Older than I Feel - That's funny because I just put him in his swing and have a jazz station on and he seems content.

Not all babies are like this, so it's just a suggestion...
Our three-month old LOVES to lay in his swing and listen to light classical music. The soundtrack to the new Kiera Knightly Pride and Predjudice is his favorite. He also likes to be carried around in the baby pack and just watch what we do.
Tummy time is not much fun, but definitly necessary at this point. He'll enjoy it more as he gets older. Peekaboo, where's baby (cover his face with a blanket and talk to him, and then pull it off so he can see you), and simple activities involving faces, voices, and sounds are all good for him. Simple, but tried and true.

First of all, I think you made a good decision to stay at home w. your child. It's really great to see that there are parents willing to devote actual time to their children. So many parents prefer to spend all their time working, and children have no proper mentor/authority because of it.
Secondly, don't forget yourself in the process! Although babies require a large amount of time, you should not let your social life fall apart because of it.
You could try taking him outside if you wrap him up very warmly--go on a short trip somewhere, maybe. Or play peekaboo, perhaps? Good luck!

You might also get a large unbreakable mirror for him to look in--most babies love mirrors. You may also try to do some baby sign language with him. I started with my kids from birth and by 9 months we communicated clearly (most of the time) without frustration. My kids were able to tell me if they wanted a bottle of milk, a drink, something to eat, play, sleep, etc. You can pick up a book at pretty much any book store or at Babies 'R' Us. Have fun!

my son loved sitting on my lap and playing horsey. I'd have him face me, and hold his hands or behind his back, and gently bounce my legs up and down while I sang him a song (Yankee doodle or something) He always got a kick out of that. Maybe try getting down on his level when he's having tummy time, that might make him enjoy it a little more. Good Luck!

I found when my son was around that age, if he wasn't eating, sleeping, or preparing for a diaper change, he was quite happy to hang out with me. I would put him in the sling and just carry him around while I did stuff.
Other than that, it seems like you're doing everything you can. If he seems fussy, just carry him. It works almost everytime.

My son loves to hear and watch me pop bubble wrap. He thinks its the funniest thing in the world. I also have a small photo album with pictures of our family in it that I show him frequently to familiarize him with everyone and he loves to look at faces. He also enjoys time looking in the mirror at himself. Its just too cute. He is only 6 months old.

my 3 month old loves me to push her around the house in her stroller. I also play airplane with her (hold her up above me and fly her ), she LOVES when I get her a mylar helium balloon, she will watch it float around for hours. She also likes it when I play with her feet and sing to her (if you're happy and you know it, clap your feet). Just a few suggestions of what I do with my 3 month old.

Boys seem to have a shorter interest span than women do & you may no longer save them interested in anybody element for long. purchase him some toys that instruct stable hand & eye coordination. perchance a musical toy gets his interest for a whilst or a conversing toy. I used to purchase my sons new toys & that they had fairly play with the container. pass determine!!!
