Does the Rode SM3 shockmount mount to boompoles and what thread does it have?
Does it have a 3/8" or 5/8" thread? Also, does it mount to a pole directly out of the box, or is there a part that needs to be removed/added? Also, has anyone had problems with the shoe mount? Thanks!
Ok, I figured it out (sort of), but now the question becomes does hole in the bottom of the hot shoe adapter mount to boompoles and is it even 3/8" in the first place (seems a bit small)?

According to

the RODE SM3 uses an "accessory shoe" mount. This it the square shoe on top of some camcorders like the shoes on this camera bracket:

Boom poles typically use a "boom pole mount". I think that is 3/8"-16
I use a Sabra SMM-1 universal mount that has a mic-stand screw mount... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/272471-REG/S...
then there's a little "boom-pole to mic-stand" adapter.
Or you could just use

that uses the boom pole mounting threads...
