Glock feeding problems....?

My Glock 22 is having feeding problems and I don't know what the problem is. I have replaced the recoil spring, bought new magazines, and polished the feeding ramp. I have used various ammo from Winchester WinClean to Hornaday TAP and the first few shots are ok, but when it gets a little powder residue in it, it starts jamming up.

Thanks for your help.

It's hard to answer your question without knowing what kind of feeding problems exactly you are having.

When you replaced when recoil spring did you swap it for a new factory recoil spring assembly with guide rod, or did you buy an aftermarket guide rod and recoil spring? If you bought an aftermarket guide rod then what # recoil spring are you using? That could be your problem. When I think of jamming the first thing that comes to mind are stove pipes, and an extra power spring could definitely cause that to happen.

Also you might not have been aware but the factory .40 S&W magazine's followers have gone through 8 generations of changes, meaning we're up to #8 followers already. What number does your follower say in the left hand corner when you are looking at an empty mag? Glock also went through 2 generations of slide stop levers stamped 2912-2 or 2912-3 if you take your slide off and look inside you can see the numbers without having to detail strip.

I noticed you also mentioned polishing your feed ramp. Are you using an aftermarket or factory barrel? Normally when I drop in an aftermarket barrel I get some feeding problems in the beginning cause of the tighter tolerences until it wares it's self in.

I am sure I could help you get to the bottom of this but it's pretty hard to when I don't know exactly what's going on. So if you need a hand feel free to email me through yahoo answers.

I agree with the others. Muzzle climb on Glocks are more abrupt compared to most other handguns of the same caliber and limp wristing will cause feeding problems. Try rotate your palm inward (towards your other hand) about 25-30 degrees and lock your joints when you fire your Glock. If the situation improved immediately, then you're limp wristing.

this could be a easy concern whether it particularly is all related to taking photos technique and not the Glock itself. You spent a good deal of money on your Glock and you realize why you paid greater for a high quality firearm. changing it isn't the respond. I even have carried Glocks for over 2 a protracted time now . I even have fired over 500 rounds in one day with out scuffling with to scrub and characteristic no longer had issues. whether, i'm in a position to tension a malfunction for demonstration applications if i desire to by skill of firing with a vulnerable grip. I won't get into all of the physics, yet basically you have an extremely heavy slide sitting on suited of an extremely gentle decrease receiver. The draw back desires to throw the entire gun returned particularly than purely permitting the slide to flow returned. the priority gets worse by way of fact the magazine empties by way of fact the backside of the pistol gets lighter with each shot and the slide maintains to be a similar weight. the respond on your concern is a miles better grip. you're able to be able to could desire to perform a little routines to strengthen your grip, wrist, arm, and shoulder capability. additionally, use 2 palms and a powerful stance. i'm no longer announcing you're able to be able to desire to paintings out to fireside a Glock, yet some stable greater physique capability will help you be a greater suitable shot with any pistol. in basic terms a sprint education from somebody who's attentive to a thank you to shoot will probable remedy your concern in one day. people who communicate undesirable approximately Glocks and say you're able to do away with it and flow with yet another sort probable have a limp-wristed taking photos technique and on no account stricken correcting it. They switched to a pistol that makes up for a number of their undesirable technique. backside line is that once you study a thank you to hold your Glock, you will outshoot those human beings on the selection by way of fact even nevertheless they don't have malfunctions as frequently as they did earlier, they nevertheless have undesirable technique.

As the above answers really. Once you get a little carbon fouling in the chamber extraction becomes a little more difficult thus requiring more energy to complete the cycle of operations. It sounds like you need to be a little firmer to give a recoil operated weapon some resistance so only the slide recoils rearward and not the entire pistol.

Like the previous answers says, have a more experienced shooter shoot it. If the experience no problems, it most likely is a limp wrist grip. If you do have a Glock with feeding problems, that is an exception, because their guns are as reliable as any mechnical device can be.

Make sure you're not limp wristing or anything like that. All though i dont want to tell you to fight the recoil, in a polymer framed handgun you have to give the slide something hard to hit so the slide can go all the way back and snap forward.

Have a professional shoot it and if they still have the problem send it back. If they don't then you can ask them what you're doing wrong.

For a Glock that is really weird. Have you had this same problem with other semi-autos? Do other shooters have the same problem with your Glock? Could it be shooter error? You might be holding it 'limp-wristed.'

have you tried a new magazine release spring? If your mag release spring becomes worn ,it will eventually cause the magazine to not seat fully enough to allow for proper feeding,or as the others state you might be limp wristing the pistol.
