Does anyone know the date when the NHL will do the 2008 draft lottery and announce the draft order?
I know that the lottery is done after the last game of the regular season, but I dont know when. Is it during the playoffs or after? Is there a date already decided? Any information would be helpful.

April 8th or 9th. It's usually held the day before the playoffs start.
Bob........it's always held right away. Last year's was was held on the Tuesday (April 9th) and the year before it was on the Wednesday.
Howler.............the lottery to determine the first overall selection is held BEFORE the playoffs start. The rest of the order will be announced as the playoffs progress.

The 2008 NHL Draft will be held from June 20-21 in Ottawa.
The draft order is not yet knowned until the playoffs are complete. The reason is because the teams that do well in the playoffs get placed more at the bottom of the list. 29th and 30th spots go to who ever goes to the finals with the Cup winner going last in the draft.

Wow LITY...is that right?? I thought it was after the play-offs...prior to the draft...never paid much attention before though. Learned something today.
