moving back on base?

When my husband left for Iraq I moved back to MI while he was gone. I plan on moving back to Ft. Stewart, Ga in a few months when he gets back. I was wondering if anyone knows the cheapest way to get all our stuff moved back. Like if certain moving places give military discounts or if you know a cheap place to go threw. I have a car so can't really move all my stuff in that. And to have movers threw a company due it they wanted like $1000.00. And since he has already been stationed there I know the army does not do it. Anything would help. Thanks

Update:

I don't mind packing the stuff in fact I rather pack my own stuff. All I need is to get it moved from here to there. I don't mind loading/unloading it. Or even driving. I just figured since the army only moved u when ur stationed somewhere and since he has already been there that was not an option. As for the cheating remark u can think whatever u want. I don't have to prove anything to you. And my sex life has nothing to do with you.

Update 2:

Ok to clear everything up so ppl can stop worryin about my personal life and just answer the question I asked. I moved back home because me and my hubby seperated because he was not ready to grow up and be a father to his son and daughter. Since he has been in Iraq a lot has changed and he wants to make it work so I am trying because I belive if u can save a marriage u should. Specially when u have a child. And I know moving cose a lot I was askin if anyone know any good deals. We never had the army move us to begin with. We looked into it but never actually had them do it. We moved everything on our own. I just figured since it had been a year he was stationed there we could not do that.

Some people are so ignorant and like to assume anytime a person is deployed that the spouse has been cheating...Anyway, the Uhaul may be the cheapest way to go.

  • well i will say this then i will say my spill, most spouses move while hubby is gone and then put a strain on money and wasted time when they could have kept the place you had so hubby could have a place to come home too. Now to answer your question no one is cheap when it comes to moving. You have already pcsed and the army moved you to stewart they will not move you again till you all pcs and that could be a long time from the time he returns. So good luck with that

    THATS JUST MEAN!!!!

You mite check and see what a Uhaul would cost, and tow the car! Get a friend/relative to drive it down for you and fly them back!!

finding something for under a grand is going to be impossible unless you do all the work yourself(pack, rent the Uhaul, load it and drive it yourself).

and this is why I never advocate a spouse moving 'home'.

Are you eligable for TMO? They move you for free and that includes packing your stuff. I used them everytime I moved while in the marines.

Have your MI boyfriend drive you there in a Uhaul. You know you weren't faithfull. It's the least he can do since he was messing with a married woman.
