Blood pressure spikes high when body temperature rises, low blood pressue when cooler & cold ??

My blood pressure spikes all of a sudden increasingly when my body temperature changes from normal to hot, also spikes very high when I have hot air blown on or in a stuffy room. Or outside in the sun-my head starts pounding on the left side of my temple-always on the left, i do not sweat or feel faint, just sudden ache from high pressure. Normal for me is 110/90, goes up to 142/115-averages. When my head is hot, the rest of my body is normal temperature or cooler. WEIRD. I am in otherwise decent healt, female 5'5 110. 23 years old.

I also wake up EVERY morning with very high blood pressure & the same pounding headache in the left temple. When i go into a cool room, and sit still for 10-15 minutes, the headache goes away, and i feel normal again.

I am on the birthcontrol patch for over 3 years, i just started these symptoms about 3- months ago. Steadily happening at least 3-5 days a week during the day & also every morning.

Any suggestions what this could be? Hormones?

Are you sure your normal BP is 110/90 ? If so, you need to see a doctor asap. You may have an underlying kidney problem that is causing the abnormally high BP. Or you could have a serious thyroid problem.

Honestly, you are a stroke waiting to happen. You cannot delay in getting medical help, as a BP of 142/115 can lead to a massive stroke from which you may not recover. If it were my daughter with these symptoms, I would tell her to immediately remove the patch (which can cause clots and stroke) and see a doctor immediately.

I'm new to high blood pressure. I'm 16 and have had it for less than a year. I've had migraines since I was about 10 (always left side temple or behind left eye) and will wake up with them multiple times a week. I've cut my sodium intake in half and drink a LOT of water daily, especially in the evenings. This has brought my blood pressure down from 150+/90+ to 130/80 on average. the headaches still come though.

Being a 16 year old male I have no idea what effects the patch could be having on this, but the headaches and temperature differential have also effected me. I am very active and after exercising and cooling down my body temperature will drop rapidly while my head temperature feels to rise.

I've had dozens of tests done (kidneys, eyes, heart,etc...) and none of them explain anything so my doctor told me to monitor what I do the days/ nights before I wake with the headache. I found that these nights I went to bed on an empty stomach, stressed, or very soon after exercise. As for the body temp (also helps the headaches) I was told to make sure my room temperature is not above 20 degrees or below 17 degrees when I go to bed because apparently it can cause your body to adjust to that temperature overnight so when you wake up and leave your room into a different climate your body reacts by fluctuating its temperature.

So all in all my cause is high blood pressure (although yours seems okay excluding the 142/115 (the 115 being quite high)). This may be your case too, but the doctor sounds like a surefire method to answers.

Every individuals body is unique to them. Sure, they tell you birth control is safe, but guess what.. Its BS... Obviously, your body is talking to you and telling you something. I hope you pay attention.

look at the patch as the cause...some hypertension is idiopathic...no known cause, but if it continues please address it or the outcome is grim!!
