Truth or Fiction?

I posted a question and within 5 minutes of my posting received neg comments...they couldn't have viewed the link www.silencingchristians.com because the program was aprox 30 min in length. So my question now is...

For those of you who tout the right to free speech, shouldn't you be outraged that ANYONE...(even if they are mistaken)...believes that their rights to free speech are being hindered?

Admittedly, I seldom read all of most links people post, especially long ones. The link you posted, I did look at some of, enough to see where it was going.

The problem with most of those who gave you negative responses is that they are arrogant enough to believe we Christians have too much of a voice, and really want us to be quiet. They are outraged that a Christian would dare to challenge them in their hypocrisy.

People should not give negative answers without checking out part of the content the link leads to. I don't understand why people bother to answer if they truly don't care.

I think all people should have concern over the right to free speech when it's threatened for any group.

Your free speech is not hindered. You spoke didn't you??? Just because you have the right to free speech, doesn't mean people HAVE to listen. That too goes with the freedom of speech. Their right to post negative comments on your question goes along with their freedom of speech too. therefore this question (according to your logic) would hinder them too, would it not???

I did go to the link and watched the clips. I already had some information on this because I receive AFA Action Alerts. Most of the time I agree with them, but other times I think they go a bit far. I, however, have signed many of their petitions. I didn't watch the whole 30 minutes because nothing surprises me anymore. I believe we are seeing fulfillment of scripture concerning the last days, which I most definitely believe we are living in. I do plan on watching these clips, however, just to try and keep informed on what is happening in our country in this regard.

What upsets me more than the negative comments is the fact that so many people who I see responding to questions such as this one and others, have no clue, in my opinion, what it means to truly know the love and grace of Jesus Christ. In fact, my belief is that most of them (and I may be terribly wrong in this statement), don't even know Him personally. THAT is what upsets me. So many people today don't take it seriously that there is a God who, though loving and kind, will one day demand justice for those who don't call on the name of His Son, Jesus, to save them from their sins. I know many will read this and believe that I am a Bible-thumping Christian who is violating THEIR right of freedom of choice in their beliefs. I do believe every word of the Bible, but I try not to shove it down the throats of others. There has to be a balance in the way we present Jesus--not religion--to others. I admit I still haven't totally found that answer. I do know that God has given every man free will and the choice to accept, or deny, Jesus is theirs and theirs alone. Only in the end will everyone know for sure. I know where I'm going. Others may not care, or not even want to think about it. Still others may think I'm wrong. My question is, "What if I'm right?"

So, am I glad that I have free speech still? You better believe I am. I pray that my right to free speech is never taken away, but I know that if I were told I had to keep quiet in my beliefs, I would still find ways to witness to others about Jesus. To me, the best thing we can do for those who get on this particular site and speak negatively about Christianity and make fun of those of us who do believe, is to pray for them.

I do not open links of any kind. I hear what you are saying about free speech.

Many people who are not Christians get offended because they do not want to hear the truth.

I don't have to watch it. Anyone who thinks that 83% of the population is being silenced has a persecution complex.

And no, I don't get outraged over a mistaken claim any more than I get outraged over the guy on the street corner who is certain that the aliens out a chip in his head.

No one is "hindering" your right to free speech. You had the right to post an incendiary link; they had the right not to view it once they realized it was biased. They also had a right to tell you exactly what they thought.

You have the right to talk, we have the right to not listen.

Our willingness to listen or not does not hinder your freedom of speech in anyway. Just because people do not agree with your point of view, it does not mean that you've somehow lost your right to communicate that point of view.

I'm not outraged when people believe their rights to free speech are being violated. I'm outraged when they're actually violated.

Free speech is ok but be sure that what you say is true you can be sued for libel.

Only true speech is free speech.
