you could share the printer on your desktop and then add the printer throught network on your laptop. Though to use the printer your desktop must be switch on.
First you'll need to go on your desktop where the printer is intalled, control panel>printers and faxes from here right click your printer > properties and sharing.
Then you'll go onto your laptop and add the printer using the option "a network printer..."
Or you could get a printer router which you could you do some setting on it to get your printer shared wirelessly.

you're saying you're linked to the Router for information superhighway purpose. Then the query is are your structures able to speak with one yet another basically like in a community. the substantial ingredient is whether or no longer the two the computers are able to connect with one yet another. once you community a printer, It does not advise that the printer may well be used quickly without the device the place the printer is put in until you have an Ethernet interface on the printer itself. in case you desire to apply the printer by using a community, you certainly will might desire to create a community between the laptop and the laptop. as quickly as sharing is desperate and the two the computers are contemporary in community community, sharing the printer and setting up the printer on the laptop would be relatively trouble-free.

If the printer is wired up to your desktop, share it and connect your laptop to it through the desktop computer.

Add a network device in my computer. URL:
\\Computer1-Name\Printer-Name\
computer1-name = the name of the computer already connected to the printer.
printer-name = the name of the printer
