I really like Eric. Heck, I like all the Staal's.
Eric is a skilled guy, and there's no getting around that. He's what? 23? And guess what? He already has one Stanley cup under his belt, he has an A on his jersey and next year probably a C, and he has won an All-Star MVP. Overrated? No way.
Sure maybe he'll never be a Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin or an Alexander Ovechkin, but he sure as heck is good.
I actually believe he's one of the most underrated players. I mean you hear his name every now and then, but he doesn't get the talk he deserves.

I think he is awesome. It is so great to go to the RBC center and watch him play each week. I do think he will get better with age but to be so young he is really good. To see what a reach he has. He can grab a puck that is far away from him with those long arms. His faceoffs have improved since Brindy is hurt and he is really helping the team in Brindy's absences. I think his brothers are really good too. It is amazing how much talent one family has. Plus Eric is a really nice guy.

same think i think of every other overrated player. he is pretty good, but he doesnt deserve the maximum attention. he definitely isnt better than crosby or ovechkin. Staal plays well and is a good leader (most of the time) but he is no more than just a basic leader for his team.

He has become a good leader since brindamour went down. I have loved him ever since i started liking hockey!! he was my favorite player!! He isn't the leading scorer in the nhl, he isnt a crosby or ovechkin but to me he is just as good as them. To back that up he has won the stanley cup!!

Even if I didn't live in NC and I wasn't a Carolina fan, I would still respect Eric Staal.
He's a good player, and he's a beast. I think he'll get better as he plays more and gets more experience.
...it doesn't hurt that he's hot, either =)

I think he has finally started playing hockey since the injuries to some of the Canes regulars. For the first time since 2006 he has started to play with consistancy. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Another of the fine ambassadors of high intellect from the intellectual centre of Ontario known as Thunder Bay.

Well, since the all star break he's developed the consistency we needed him to. And you don't hear a lot about it, but since the Brind'Amour was injured he's the league's leading scorer.
Needs to work on those faceoffs though.
I think we should keep him.

I think he is one of the most talented NHLers! He's super nice too. I really think Carolina should keep him. He's a real asset to the team!

I think he's ok, and I like him as a player. He looks like a horse to my eye, but as long as he can play, that doesn't matter.
