Which airport?

On an extended trip, I need to fly to LA from Hampton Roads, VA.

My choices are: US Air through Philadelphia or Charlotte, or AirTran through Atlanta. All the same price, I just need to know which one would be best.

I've flown US Air several times and know that they suck, but have no experience with AirTran. And it's been many, many years since I've been through ATL, but went through Philadelphia a few years ago and found it to be pretty nice.

Any insight?

I say take US Air. They're not all that bad; we flew them about a year and a half ago, and were very pleased. I've heard mixed reviews of AirTran; my DH flew them out of Florida several years ago and it was not a good experience at all.

As for airports, definitely Charlotte-Douglas. Atlanta is just nasty; and this is coming from someone who grew up ten minutes from Chicago-O'Hare. LOL Charlotte-Douglas is clean, well laid out, and the people there are very friendly and helpful (we live about 10 minutes from Charlotte now).

If I were you I would do everything in my power to avoid the Atlanta airport. I have never NOT been delayed in Atlanta.

Don't know anything about the other airports, sorry.
