first take the right path, because it is the RIGHT path, see where it goes, then go back and try the left path

two roads diverging from a fork cannot be identical, because they lead to different destinations. they can appear identical, and life is full of forks - call them decision points - if everything was clear, life would be mathematics, but it's not. but you stated that it doesn't matter where you're going. sometimes that's true, but most of the time, your premise is a hypothetical: it does matter which way we go. If you want to get spiritual about it, because we're dealing with the future and the unknown ... well you probably don't want to. so let's look at taking a flight to New York. suddenly ther's a stopover in Dallas. we're still going to New York, even though we forked off: it doesn't matter. my wife is pregnant. when nine months roll around, and she hasn't delivered on Tuesday, I don't say to her, "Hey Honey, I think you were just kidding about having a baby." Not when I can just about see it. does it matter whether i answer your question? does it matter if I answer it well? I don't know, ultimately, what all the consequences of having chosen to try to answer it will be, so I say, "It doesn't matter." Nevertheless, everything matters. Everything matters, if you define "matters" as "has an effect". Nothing matters if you define "matters" as "knowing in advance with perfect information what the consequences are" or "whatever happens, I don't care." What specifically do you mean by, "It doesn't matter"? You might think it doesn't matter to you and find out later - woops!

Well, I think I'll take the fork out of the road, dust it off and stick it in my shirt pocket. I don't have a particular place to go, so I'll just keep going straight. Besides, you never know when you might need a fork.

heres what you do: Stick your arm out straight in front of you, with your index finger extended. SPIN SPIN SPIN until you barf, but keep that finger pointed out while you spin. SPIN until you fall down, and which ever path you fall closest to is the path you should take.

I*d go left just to be different

I think most folks veer to the right, which is why most grocery stores are laid out the way they are.

I guess I'd go right, I think I'd feel better grounded so I can be sure to find my way back.
