there was brownish colour but it was light after taking the pill then a few days later it was red but heavier.

First, you don't need to use pregnancy protection during menstruation because during menstruatin you cannot become pregnant.
Second, morning after pills created "hormonal conflict" with your own hormones and after some period it will be fixed itself.
