How did you, as a WWE parent explain to your children about what occured with Chris Benoit?
My little boy was too young to understand it, so I never had to explain it. However, another question I have is, did you keep all of your Chris Benoit Memorabilia or through it away. I just came across some collector cards and trying to decide what I should do with them , I think selling them would be wrong, making a buck off of someone's tragic ending does not sit well with me. And also my son has an autograph from Chris Benoit, he is two now and he loves wrestling, i have the autograph put up, what should I do with it? Thanks for replies and please tell how did you explain it to your kids! Thanks

Can you people stop saying you lost respect for benoit!! You cant lose respect for somebody after they did something bad, if the respect that you had in the first place was unrelated to family. You cant forget what Benoit did in the ring no matter how bad the tragedy.
As far as the question goes, keep the memorabilia and cherish that you got Chris Benoit's autograph before the tragedy.

I feel sorry for you. Well obviously don't tell your children that Chris Benoit died tell them he went on a long vacation and he will be back soon. Then when they turn 8 or something tell them the truth. I remember that the ages from 1-4 are serious ages that 1 event can change your life. As for those Chris Benoit collectibles, keep them they may not be worth much but they mean so much. I still remember Chris Benoit, till today I don't believe he commited a double suicide murder.

We can't tell you what to do here. You should do what you feel is morally right. The opinions of Benoit differ to this day, some still appreciate his wrestling career and all he's done while the others resent every thought of him and that's where I personally belong. I did what the WWE did and am no longer even watching his matches, just makes me sick to even see him in any of the old vids.
I'm no parent nor an expert but I guess your kid is still way too young to understand anything you'd tell him right now. I guess deep down, you know what the real thing is to do. Just follow your instincts, it's up to you.

I was shocked by what Benoit had done. I agree it was completly wrong, but I think you should hold on to all your memorabilia. This can be a good learning tool on dangers of steroids or other drugs. Your son is too young to understand now, so if he enjoys it, leave it up. When he gets older then you can use this to teach him the dangers of steroids (and also wrestling itself!) Then he can decide if he wants it up or not.

Well, i might be the right person to answer this question, considering i was 10 at the time (yes, i'm 11 now), and i think u should sell it. Sure, it had a tragic ending and it doesnt sit well, but dont just keep the autograph for him, he was the one who killed his family. That's who u should feel story for. Since that day i've always imagined my self four years younger, coming home, waiting for my dad to tell me how it was like in the ring at Vengeance, but instead went wild and killed me. No, that wouldnt be right, which is why benoit has no meaning to me anymore, and it just proves to me and other kids like your son to never take steroids. U might come across this question again when he's older, and id tell him that regardless how competitive u are, u should never cheat, heck kill ur self or loved ones for drugs. Furthermore, i think it was Apprec something that answered saying wrestling is more important than family? Just imagine you being Nancy Benoit, or lets imagine hes Chris Benoit, killing his family, and he's one to think it's not as important as a company who entertains us with fake fighting? I hope this helps.

I said that Chris Benoit had tooken medician that the doctors gave him and it made him sick. I said he tried but his body was sick. I said that Chris had pased away and that they wouldn't be seing him on the TV. They Understood. I have kept my Action Figures of him and they will be worth huge money somday. You Should keep them they will be worth alot. What he did was wrong but there are double murder suacides everywere atleast once a day. What he did was very disturbing but it dosn't change the fact that he loved his fans and he loved his family and that he was devoted to the bussness.

Well, it was pretty easy for me.. Chris Benoit used a lot of steroids and substances which, combined with the physical trauma that comes from wrestling, it damaged his brain.
But WWE has always been and always will be the most important thing in the world for me. As far as I'm concerned, but Benoit did was totally justified if it was responsible for his success in the ring. Family stuff must take a seat to wrestling. If anything, what Chris did showed his utter devotion to the sport and is something that should be admired. Keep the memorabilia and don't feel ashamed, we all love our kids, but at the end of the day, WWE is more important.

My son is right now too young to watch wrestling, but at this point I have lost all respect for Beniot, and firmly believe that a psychotic maniacal killer NEVER deserves any kind of accolades or credit. I could never hurt my child and regardless of circumstances you don't ever hurt your child. If you are doing something that my lead you down that path, you stop. period. Nothing else matters more than my child. Maybe if your son is curious in 14 years or so (thinking more maturity than actual age) you can let him discover for himself, but my son will not know who Beniot is for a very long time. If I had any memorbilia, it would long have since been thrown away...

i would explain to him that benoit was a great person but because of the headbuts he hurted his brain a lot and wasn't acting sain and became really sad and tired ...
so he thought that if he and nancy and daniel were dead they will all lived happily ever after in heaven so he killed them and himself because he wasn't thinking right ....
they are all resting in peace in heaving because god know that he was a good person and he was just sick and wasn't thinking right ....then i would let him keep the signature picture and the memorbilia
i would tell him this because 1st it's the truth and i don't why you should destroy the innocence of a kid because of the cruality of this world

well this was a hard one but i guess the best thing to do is remember that he had alot of brain damage and on a special bout it they said that he didnt know what he was doing....i would later on just sit down and explain to him that drugs r bad and that is perfect case right there of how bad they r also keep the stuff cause u might regret tossing it one day if u must get rid of it please contact me i know someone who would love to have it also u must remember that to beniot wwe was his life along with his fans so i would keep it cause not to remember what he done but to remember his career
