24 weeks pregnant...breast engorgement?!?

I'm 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow. As of yesterday, my entire breast, especially the areola and nipple, are as hard as rocks. Not hard meaning erect (when you're cold) but swollen and hard. I know there are tons of breast changes during pregnancy and I'm already experiencing a bit of leaking. But could this mean the leaking is going to pick up and I should get some breast pads? Or could it be something else?

Yes buy breast pads and no it's not anything else. You are 24 weeks, so in another month you'll be in your third trimester. That's perfectly normal. It just means that you have a high level of hormones in your body. I've known alot of women who have had milk let down before the baby came. If you are planning on breast-feeding then invest in a breast pump and begin to save your milk. Your Milk can be safely stored in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours and for up to three months in the freezer (and six months in a deep freezer).

I was 24 weeks when I started lactating as well. I would definitly get some breast pads even if you don't leak everyday becuase well I know for me at least there would be a random day I would just leak and my shirt would get all wet and someone would have to point it out to me... not fun. Just wait til you start nursing your baby and 2-3 days after they are born and your real milk starts to come in...
