Open trunk on a pontiac gto?
I have an 2004 pontiac gto(quicksilver). Everytime i hit the trunk realease button on my remote or in the glovebox it wont come open in fact it just unlocks then locks back up and doesnt come up. So i must be out side the car pulling the trunk up while i push the button to open it. Is this normal or is it supposed to come up when i hit it one time? There were a few interior things wrong with the car when i puirchased it and im not sure if my problem is one of them or if the car comes like this.
Where is that located at? If you have any pictures that would be nice if you could e-mail them to me thnx.

There are adjustable bumpers on the trunk lid, but remember that the trunk is only supposed to pop a little bit anyway. Adjust the bumpers a quarter turn at a time until the trunk lid just barely pops up. If you adjust them too far the trunk will not close.
Edit: a great place for GTO information if you have not heard of it is www.ls1gto.com.

My dad works for Holden which made the GTO, known as the monaro and he has never heard of that fault before on either the monaro or on the commodore here. Usually there is a yellow round pin behind the rear middle seat u can pull but i dont think u can get to it in a GTO. Also the boot design of the GTO meant the button releases the lock, but doesnt actually push the lid up any bit so you shouldnt see the boot move up alot, just a centimetre up or two. U should really take it to the dealer and tell em, sorry about wat u heard about the interior quality.
Holden has kicked itself up alot to make the new Ponitac G8 we are sending over, its build quality is meant to match audi and ride quality is better than the 2004 BMW 5-series it was benchmarked against so try it out if u liked the pontiac and want better bang for ur bucks.

The trunk lid does not move when released just unlatches. Try this first turn the two rubber stops counter clockwise out 1/2 turn each. That slight upward tension should hold open the trunl lid after the release is pushed on the key or glove box. Or both rubber stops may be missing?

Sounds like a faulty trunk actuator to me. It should pop the trunk open to the point it stays unlocked and "openable" once you push the trunk button on your remote.

You might have better luck asking in the IMPORT section under Holden.
Hope this helps out!
