Your friend is a liar! Let me guess.. she didn't have any ultrasounds either right??? You could tell your doctor anything, once the ultrasound is done there is no more guessing... they tell you exactly how far along you are... Your friend should have pets... not kids... maybe not even pets.....

I agree that is very selfish. I can't imagine any mother doing that. Its one thing for the child to come early naturally or for the due date to be a few weeks off but to all out lie to get an earlier due date is just messed up. How is that even possible? In today's world the ultrasound machines are very accurate and should be able to pick up on a difference of over a few weeks by the development of the fetus.

That's dangerous! They need to know how old the baby is to know when to do certain tests that should have certain results at certain times (like the AFP test). Not to mention that if measurements or an ultrasound shows a baby much smaller than it should be, they might assume that the placenta is not functioning well and decide that the baby would be better of in the NICU than in the womb. Plus, every day in the womb counts. Why would she want to risk having a baby with underdeveloped lungs?

You should be honest with your doctor, they may find out the truth anyway by performing a sonogram. There are certain tests that are given during pregnancy to assure a healthy baby and if you give them the wrong dates and they perform the test at the wrong time, then you could get false results. Don't be concerned with delivering early, your baby needs the full 0 weeks inside your belly to develop properly!

Lying about your last period will not throw you into labor any faster. Your body goes by it's own time line not one that you try to force upon it.
And if she meant scheduled inductions or C-sections. There are scans and test to measure the babies growth and no matter how long you *say* you've been pregnant no doctor will induce until that baby is ready or it's medically necessary.

Unless they induced her/gave her a C-section then her lying about her due date wouldn't have made her babies come out any faster. Also, doctors have ways of telling how far along you are besides your LMP. If her ultrasounds and fundal measurements were not adding up to her LMP they would have known something was off.
Your baby is going to come when he/she is ready, regardless of the date you say was was your LMP. Many women also do not know this.

Absolutely wrong. Very selfish, why not wait a little longer and have a better chance of having a healthy baby? Someone so selfish really should think about what it's going to take to be a good parent before opening their mouth.

i think it is wrong and very selfish. why would you lie about your last period just to have you children early. a child needs every day in the womb to be as healthy as possible. i personally would never do that even tho i have had 2 very hard pregnancys and trying for my 3rd i dont care how misable the pregnancy is just deal with it. i was on bed rest from 6 weeks on with both of my sons

It's wrong for several reasons. Some of the testing done is dependent on being performed during certain weeks. Otherwise, more extensive and expensive tests need to be done. Frankly, I'm appalled at some of the women who have even come on yahoo!answers (want to self induce at 37 weeks...what's up with that?).

i think that is very selfish on her part. doing that, and giving birth earlier then she is suppose to could harm the baby. because the baby might not be fully developed yet. i cannot stand mothers who are so damn impatient... "i want my baby out now, i really want to meet my baby what can i do to induce my labor i am 32 weeks..." ive had enough of those questions. just wait... whats wrong in waiting til your baby is ready to come out on their own. granted i understand if you went way past your due date, but dont try and make it come earlier just cause you dont want to be pregnant anymore. whats a couple more weeks, you've already done the 8 months.... selfish *******

That is very irresponsiable, the baby needs to go 38 weeks. Besides, if you lie or not, the sonogram will tell the truth and you will sit there looking like an idiot
