Whats the best band name?

The Smiths because in my opinion they're the best band ever.

I have always been particularly fond of the name Blue Oyster Cult. It sounds so...secretive. I remember the first time I heard them, when I was a wee lass, I thought there must be some sort of weird magical rites going on somewhere in the background.

Other band names I really like (for no particular reason, unless specified):

--Joy Division (great name for a dreary band)

--The Clash

--The Velvet Underground

--Nightwish

--The The (I just think it's a clever play on all the bands which have "the" at the beginning of their names)

--Roxy Music (Roxy Music sounds like the name of a house band for a brothel)

--Bauhaus (it was a cool movement--I especially like the architecture--it's a clever name for a band--too bad most people don't know about the Bauhaus style)

--Big Brother and the Holding Company (it's just a cool name)

And you're spot on on Korn. It's almost as good a name as Tool.

lol at korn. i think the clash is the best band name, it really sounds so awesome and their music is fantasic.

theres a lot of bands now with some really unique names like "does it offend you, yeah?" not a fan but a cool name and also "get cape.wear cape.fly" who again im not a fan of.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus....pretty darn quirky!

I would find it highly difficult to come up with a more meaningful and thought provoking band name than KoЯn.

"Himsa"

The name Himsa comes from the word Ahimsa which in Sanskrit means "to abstain from causing harm". Removal of the "A" give the word opposite meaning. Himsa literally means 'violence' in Sanskrit,
