Hum... that's just odd?

Good morning :0 )

Are there any ways you listen to music/feel about music that may be considered strange?

I know for me, the louder the song is, the sleepier I get. In a good way.... for some odd reason, it can be very mellowing in it's loudness.

Does that make sense? Um... it's the morning anyway, nothing makes sense : P

Yea, so basically this is an open ended question, do as you will with it....

I've been known to watch TV and listen to my stereo at the same time. I guess it's the age of ADD and alot of sensory input.

When I was younger and more or less a rebel against my dad I would stay up late night and listen to music on my headphones to late in the morning.

Yeah, I have serious amounts of ambient electronic including Boards of Canada, M83, Fennesz, Keith Fullterton Whitman, and Brian Eno...good music for relaxing.

I can't remember the lyrics the first few times I listen to a song; I'm more concerned with the overall sound of a song than the meaning at first. Usually I'll also listen to a new album over and over again for about a week, then I'll know the lyrics.

Oh, and I have a song for every occasion. Someone will say something, and it connects to a song in my head, so I might sing the next line, etc.

On the commutes to and from work, I have to rely on the iPod to dial up whatever music I'm in the mood to listen to. Only problem is, half the time I don't know what I want to hear. Sometimes I spend 2 or 3 minutes finding a playlist that engages me that morning, then skip from track to track depending upon whether I want to hear one song before another. Fortunately it's just for me - if someone else was listening, I'd drive them crazy!

Darth that's really strange, but cool at the same time. It's 11:15 here in Jersey.Just having my Rockstar(I hate coffee.).I'm in a Operation Mindcrime mood(See last batch of questions.).I love the layers of the album. When I listen to it I 'm in it.That's how good it is.Same goes for Music from ''The Elder".

Some music is like that. That's why I love Rock Operas. They take you to another place.

Same for a good live album like Alive or Frampton Comes Alive. It was cool to work with him last year. When the opening of strains of Show Me the Way started it was like man this is way to cool.

Same goes for Kansas. When they did Point of no Return.Unfortunately for that show I was on Follow Spot Light that night and had to listen to the show through crappy headphones. But it was cool I didn't miss a spot call, and made the show look great.

Sorry going way off track.A.d.d moment.

    Have a blessed day!

While it depends on what I'm listening to, sometimes when I'm really tired having the volume cranked up can have a hypnotic effect.

I'm at home sick with a cold, and loaded up on various chemicals today. I laid in my bed with the blankets over my head for the entire duration of Malevolent Creation's 1st album 'The Ten Commandments'. I had it cranked, and the bass shook my sinuses lose!

I've never felt such bliss! Who knew that old school death metal was good for a cold. What a fantastic feeling!

And here I was thinking I'd be stuck watching Regis and Kelly all morning!

I enter a trance when I listen to Floyd on a certain pair of headphones that I have (like i am doing right now). It ony works with Dark Side of the Moon however. I slowly enter the trance from the opening heartbeats of Speak to Me until Breathe Reprise, I am in the trance from Great Gig to Us and Them. Once I reach Any Colour one of two things can happen.. 1) I emerge from my trance and completely rock out to brain damage and eclipse (and i get into it like crazy) or 2) i remain in the trance and become Pink Floyd high, where i just feel amazing (i've never been high from smoking but i have gotten high at the dentist and its the greatest lol) and it feels like that i guess.

It's crazy. For reason weird reason bands like Cattle Decapitation,Waking the Cadaver,Cannibal Corpse seems to relax me.

I always dance why listening to music no matter what. Even if I'm lying down. Also it takes me about midway to realize that I like a song. Then I start it over and over again and never really get to the end.

*Also I can only listen to pop music while brushing my teeth.

I do enjoy listening to my music loudly, but I tend to have a habit of singing in a similar fashion that the vocalist is doing, from AC/DC to Metallica to Chris LeDoux to Dio. So, I tend to turn the music down, so I'm not awake with the song stuck in my head.

When my insomnia gets really bad at 3-4 a.m. and I can't stop thinking about the book I am writing, I put my headphones on and listen to Pink Floyd , Yes and Genesis. That relaxes me most of the times and I do fall asleep even though in my dreams I am aware that I still have my Ipod on...at some moment I convince myself to turn it off....
