    Go to:

    Control Panel(in classic view)---> System

    in one of the tabs there is a button that says something like 'Hardware Manager'

    Click on it and find the card reader in there(make sure it is connected) and uninstall the driver for it by right clicking it and selecting 'uninstall driver'.

    restart your computer, go back to the hardware manager and find the card reader again. and select 'install driver'. and you should be good.

    just make sure to restart again

    keep in mind, that im not exactly in windows right now so this could be a *tiny bit off because i cant exactly verify every step, but it should be something along those lines.
