Is it okay not to have a child since most of the people don't care about the environment?
i mean, it's very bovious despite of the signs and warnings that if we don't start to take care of our environment, future generations will suffer the most. and so, i've decided not to have a child since he/she will suffer because of the irresponsible acts of my generation.

Interesting thought, but I don't think that should be your only reason for not having kids. Our own mothers and ancestors have gone through the same thoughts in the past, but if they decided to forego having kids, where would we be? The children of the '60s were starting to realize that something needs to be done about the environment, and there was the "hole in the ozone layer" in the '80s. No matter what, there will be something that new generations will need to overcome. It's scary for all of us to think about what the future will bring, but all we can do is try our best to give them the best future possible. If you choose to not have children, that is up to you, but let it be a whole-hearted decision. If you truly desire to have children but are simply afraid of the future, I don't think you will truly be happy later in life.

I don't think not having a child is the answer.
I believe that if you want children, then go a head.
Just know that is up to you to teach them early about the importance of preserving the environment.
In fact go one step further and start teaching everyone.
All it takes is one suggestion, a statement, a not so known to all fact like ( did you know that cigarette butts are not biodegradable or hey did you know that pollution is not just smog, smoke or chemicals, it is also the trash we throw away.)
That's all it takes, humans are creatures of habit and if people get in the habit of stating environmental facts then they will get into the habit of repeating it.
remember one word or action may not get heard or seen, but words and actions by many will make an impact. Why not start with you.

It's not just your generation, it's the older generations also. I assume that we are probably around the same age, since I am also considering children. My grandfather was a chemical sprayer in the 50's and they never used any sort of filtration systems, or breathing apparatuses. So, it's not just this generation, it's most since the turn of the 20th century. I don't think that is anyone's choice whether you have a child besides your own anyway...

Alright, lets say the environment will get worse which is actually happening already...in this scenario, who will take care of you when you get old and sick and lonely if you dont have a child or children?...probably your husband...what if your husband is gone or you happen to leave this earth before your husband? it is better to have a child or children for that matter...besides, the advantages of having a child or children far outweighs the disadvantages in terms of being happy and fulfilled in this cruel world....

I"m no longer interpreting all this. I particularly have maintained that in case you have confidence that your God created this earth, then you ought to desire to look after it. the rest is against what God actually needs, acceptable? that is like in the journey that your dad offered a clean homestead and alter into very pleased with it. might you circulate there and trash or might you're taking acceptable care of it?

i believe it is all yoru choice and no body has the right to tell you weather to have a child or not. it is your body that will change your life that will change and you are totally right that you will be having a child that will be the one that will be suffering in generations to come. i say you are fine to want to have children. but then again I am a very religous person and the bible states that a man and woman marry and the point of sex os to reproduce so its your call

I don't blame you. The way things are going, no one in their right mind would want to bring a child into the world. But then again, just think it could be your child that elevates and brings about the changes the world needs.

It is OK to not have children for any reason you want. Having children is not compulsory.
Not everyone is as smart as you are. People have children because they are fulfilling their selfish need to control a little clone of themselves. They will say anything to justify themselves. I have tried to talk as many people out of having children as people have tried to talk me into having children.
They don't care that every diaper their child wears will be sitting in a landfill for 50,000 years, or that their child will just be another consumer of energy.
