manchester united supporters?
hopefully it will be a long time yet, but who do you think would make a ideal replacement for sir alex? how could anyone step into the big mans shoes. how can you follow up on perfection?
i think maybe roy keane or another ex united player steve bruce...
seems like there are like me a lot of passionate united supporters on here, and carlos has been mentioned as maybe a replacement, or roy keane, l thaught when steve bruce was understudy it was him, then l thaught the same about maclaren, thank god it was him, roy keane left in contraversial circumstances, sparky as some of you are suggesting seems favourite at the moment with the faithful, keep the suggestions coming as its a topic which is taboo, as nobody including myself wants to see sir alex retire, but one day it will happen, and its intresting to see who the faithfuls choice would be.theres so many to choose.
sorry meant WASN'T STEVE MACLAREN

You know, they certainly are big shoes to fill and in many peoples eyes, no matter how good the replacement may be, they will never be Sir Alex. They will take over but never replace him in Uniteds history. All good things must eventually come to an end but jeez sometimes you wish they didn't have to..lol. I don't know who will take over but he has endorsed Carlos. Roy isn't ready for that sort of responsibility yet. Must say I'm not looking forward to that day..that is going to be one big adjustment for all the United faithful and the players.

As a Manchester United supporter, there is only one man that can fill Sir Alex's shoes for me:
Jose Mourinho
He is the only manager that can win trophees like Sir Alex, 5 in 3 years for Chelsea says it all.
He is also young and has loads of passion.

I'll say Mark Hughes(blackburn Coach) He's a very good coach and has done a lot of great things there. I believe if he will do well at United because he will have a lot of resources than he had at Blackburn

mark Hughes is shaping up nicely for that job, saf eventual successor has to know the passion that is man united which is why it will be a united old boy for the job,
my money is on sparky.
by the way i cant see saf going before he has beaten or drawn level with Liverpool on league titles can you !!

I think it will be Martin O'neil, as long as he does not blow it at Villa, I bet his names already printed on a piece of paper in a safe at Old Trafford this very minute!
