What to do with ArboyDay.org trees until planted?
I ordered some trees from the Arbor Day foundation. They will arrive today, but I may not get to plant them until this weekend. What is the best way to keep them alive until then?
BTW: they are bare root (not potted) 6-12" tree starters.
P.S. I am in central Pennsylvania.

You can quasi-pot them in some soil and keep them moist and cool. Prepare the spot(s) where you'll be planting and then when you get to plant them this weekend you can just turn them out into the spots. By quasi-pot I mean you can put them in small pots or even plastic bags with some soil and moisture to keep the roots from drying.

If you plan on planting them within the next day or so there should be any problem. They will come with instruction though.
