St. Michael the Archangel in the Bible?
I'm a Cradle Catholic and I believe in the traditions of the Catholic Church fully but my knowledge of traditions and scripture are somewhat mixed. My mother was Baptist and my dad was Lutheran. Both were taught about St. Michael the Archangel and the great battle in Heaven with Satan. I've been looking into it and I can't find it in the Bible. I was wondering if the story was a Catholic tradition.
But the battle in Revelations is not clear whether it is past, present, or future. The story clearly takes place before the fall of man.

The story is not in the Bible but is related in an apocryphyal book of the Old Testament (it's not in the Christian Old Testament) called the Book of Enoch that tells a bunch of dramatic stories about angels, including the war in heaven. Although angelology is not really that apparent in the Bible, it was a strong part of Judaism, which supposedly was absorbed into Judaism from the Babylonian culture. It carried over and persisted in its own way in Christianity--primarily Catholocism-- and was more commonly accessed in medieval and magical Christianity and Christianized folk culture, having been a little forgotten in modern Christianity (but followed either authentically or "fluffily" in New Age stuff and in ceremonial magic.)
The Archangel Michael is also called St. Michael and IS considered to be a saint in the Catholic Church. Jehovah Witnesses believe that Jesus is the incarnation of the Archangel Michael. Check out the Wikipedia entry on Michael. It is quite informational and interesting.

Ref 1. In Jewish tradition these seven archangels are Gabriel, Jeremiel, Michael, Raguel, Raphael, Sariel, and Uriel. On the other hand, Islam believes in four archangels, namely, Jibril, Mikal, Izrail, and Israfil. Catholicism also believes in four archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel. Aside from Michael, no archangel is mentioned in the Bible, nor do the Scriptures use the term “archangel” in the plural. The Bible describes Michael as the archangel, implying that he alone bears that designation. Hence, it is reasonable to conclude that Jehovah God has delegated to one, and only one, of his heavenly creatures full authority over all other Jude v9 "But when Michael THE archangel had a difference with the Devil.." describes Michael as THE archangel, not an archangel. Satan the Devil is described as transforming into an angel of light (in order to deceive, and perpetuate the lie). - 2 Corinthians 11 v14 "And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. " Furthermore, ref 2 (see below). The term “Lucifer” is found only once in the Scriptures and that at Isaiah 14:12. Even this, however, is true of only certain versions, such as the King James, Douay, An American Translation, Knox and Darby. The American Standard Version and the Revised Standard Version use the expression “Day Star”; Rotherham, “Shining One”; Moffatt, “shining star.” There is no mention of the word "Saint" in the Hebrew or Greek texts of the bible.

Michael is the ONLY Archangel Mentioned in the Bible. The idea that Gabriel is one as well is Not a Biblical teaching. Yes Michael is mentioned as battling the Dragon/Satan in Rev 12:7-9.

The first mention of St. Michael the Archangel - by name at least - is found in the book of Daniel. He appears in chapter 10, but the relevant prophecy is in chapter 12:
"At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever." - Daniel 12:1-3.
It is also mentioned in Revelation 12:7: "And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon."

If "Saint" means holy, then certainly Michael the Archangel is holy and has proven which side he stands on in regards to God. Check out Revelation 12:7 (ongoing battle with Satan) and also Jude 1:9 (past confrontations between Michael and the devil).

Look in a good concordance and you'll see that all obedient Jews and Christians are saints, not who a particular denomination votes to be such. And since Michael isn't first and foremost, a person, then like has already been stated, he can't be a saint. He's one of three archangels (Gabriel's the other existing one, and Lucifer used to be one).

He can be found in the book of revelations. Many churches acknowledge him as an archangel and that he did battle Satan.

No, it is in the Bible.
He appears in the Book of Daniel as ‘one of the chief princes’ of the heavenly host and as the special guardian or protector of Israel (Dan. 10: 13 ff. and 12: 1). In the Book of Revelation he is the principal fighter of the heavenly battle against the devil (or dragon), ‘who was cast unto the earth and his angels were thrown down with him’ (Rev. 12: 7–9). In the Epistle of Jude (9) he disputes with the devil about the body of Moses and says: ‘May the Lord rebuke you.’

Revelation 12:7 "And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war"
The fact that it is in the Bible doesn't mean I believe that tripe.
