Anyone know the poet Bob Dylan is talking about in "Tangled Up And Blue"?
The poet he talks about in this verse.
"She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
I thought you'd never say hello, she said, you look like the silent type
And then she opened up a book of poems and handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet from the thirteenth century"
"Every one of those words rang true and glowed like burning coal
Pouring off of every page like it was written in my soul
From me to you; tangled up in blue"

The verse about the Italian poet is what really intrigued me about this song. A lot of people have heard of Dante Alighieri, and it is likely to be him, but it's wrong to assume that it's about his Divine Comedy (which describes hell, purgatory and heaven for those confused) - he wrote La Vita Nuova ("The New Life") to tell the story of his love for Beatrice Portinari. She is also the symbol of salvation in the end in the Divine Comedy.
Yet there are less known 13th century Italian poets which one must consider like:Guido Guinizelli, which there is an illusion to in T.S. Elliot's "Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", which if you choose to go down this path further deepens the mystery.

As "great" as Bob Marley is, Bob Dylan will finally be shown because of the fact the unmarried individual who had the perfect impact to Rock and roll that got here out of the '60s. Now a actual question is who's extra suitable, the Beatles or Dylan.
