My brother had 4 kids, 2 with autism. So I can go on forever on the subject.
For one thing, autism is a spectrum disorder.
Some high on the spectrum people become engineers & computer programmers [Bill Gates & Albert Einstein are both suspected to have (had) autism.]
But those lowest on the spectrum never get out of diapers & never learn how to talk.
My niece was pretty low. She is out of diapers but still has BM issues. And her vocabulary is about like an 18month old's. Her comprehension is much better, though. Kind of like a kindergartener. She is almost 12 years old.
My nephew died in a drowning accident at the age of 4. People with low fuctioning autism often have difficulty understanding danger. Dominic would scream like he was being murdered if you tried to clip his toenails, but he liked to chew on electrical cords.
I do not believe vaccinations cause autism.
Part of the increase in the diagnoses rate is the broadening definition of autism. [Bill Gates & Albert Einstein would have never been considered autistic under the older definition.]
Part of the increase in a better understanding.
And part is the due to there no longer being a stigma attached to autism. Mothers used to be blamed. Now mothers actively go from doctor to doctor to get their child diagnoses.
I could go on & on, but I'll stop for now.

many doesnot know what autism is all about..they mislead and misunderstand the autism with other disorders...i think a awarness among every individual is necessary...
also...we must educate the parents about the autism sysmpotms...i think autism is nothing but... a brain development disorder that impairs social interaction and communication, and causes restricted and repetitive behavior, all starting before a child is three years old. This set of signs distinguishes autism from milder autism spectrum disorders (ASD) such as Asperger syndrome
Autism is highly heritable, although the genetics of autism are complex and it is generally unclear which genes are responsible In rare cases, autism is strongly associated with agents that cause birth defects Other proposed causes, such as childhood vaccines, are controversial and the vaccine hypotheses lack convincing scientific evidenceMost recent reviews estimate a prevalence of one to two cases per 1,000 people for autism, and about six per 1,000 for ASD, with ASD averaging a 4.3:1 male-to-female ratio. The number of people known to have autism has increased dramatically since the 1980s, at least partly due to changes in diagnostic practice; the question of whether actual prevalence has increased is unresolved
Autism affects many parts of the brain; how this occurs is poorly understood. Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child's life. Early behavioral or cognitive intervention can help children gain self-care, social, and communication skills. There is no cure.Few children with autism live independently after reaching adulthood, but some become successful, and an autistic culture has developed, with some seeking a cure and others believing that autism is a condition rather than a disorder

My brother is autistic. He's a high functioning autistic, and he can carry out everyday tasks pretty well. But one time he asked what autism was and I cried so hard. I don't know why. It just breaks my heart to know that for the rest of his life he won't be able to function like the average person.

I think these "impaired" people are actually more advanced than the rest of the "normal" people. I have a lot of friends who grew up with childhood autism... and they're geniuses, without a doubt.

it's a disablitility that too many children battle and we need to find the cause and prevent it as soon as possible. also, any special needs child is especially cute to me because they are so sweet and innocent.
