What did prophet Muhammed do with the children of his enemies?

Islamic history books (including SAHIH MUSLIM and SAHIH BUKHARI) tell a story about prophet Muhammed who KILLED all the men of a Jewish tribe and enslaved all the women and CHILDREN on allegations that the leaders of that tribe TRIED to betray him.

I am not asking about the reason for KILLING ALL THE MEN (including those who did not even hear about the alleged betryal).

I am asking what wrong did those poor children do to be enslaved?
