If this is not proof of a transitional fossil and a good case for evolution?

Update:

I know there is plenty of evidence but I saw quite a few answers day using the old "no transitional fossils" argument so I thought i'd put a recent article on here

Update 2:

*should say "today"

Update 3:

wait a minute

are you guys saying this is the serpent from the bible????

I thought that one lost his legs not one or two still attached......

There are all kinds of transitional fossils and we can observe evolution, so it isn't in question.

You picked the wrong fossil. It is recorded in the Holy Bible because of what the serpent said to Eve that he caused the talking serpent to crawl on his belly. Snakes had legs until Lucifer took on the appearance of a snake (serpent) and God said the serpent would crawl on his belly hereafter for deceiving Adam and Eve.

This fossil was found in the Holy Land where some believe the Garden of Eden was in the beginning.

You Evolutionists need to find a transitional fossil not recorded in the Bible so clearly. This snake with legs is clearly recorded by God. The snake suffered because a fallen angel called Lucifer dwelled within him or possessed him. You are looking at the form of the devil at one time in history.

That is so cool. I am a Christian and I believe in evolution. In the sence that things very obviously do evolve and that the earth is very very old. There is too much proof not to believe that. But at the same time, because of my strong belief in the Lord, I also believe that both are true. God created the earth. God does not work off the same time lines that we do. Time is a physical thing and He is in the spiritual realm. There could have been millions of years between the time that he created the earth and human kind. I know it says each of 6 days what he created. But who knows how long a day is to God. There are many things that I don't understand but I do know that when the Lord comes back and we become all knowing like He, we will know then. Until then I live by Faith. The fossil is fascinating. Thanks for that.

My husbands atheist friend showed me an article about this years ago. This proves the bible. Think about how old Genesis is. Genesis 3:13-15 (New International Version)

13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?"

The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,

"Cursed are you above all the livestock

    and all the wild animals!

You will crawl on your belly

    and you will eat dust

all the days of your life.

It is proof of one snake that had a mutation of some sort causing it to have two completely useless "legs". Now, find me several of those and I may take pause. One specimen is a mutation, not proof of evolution.

Besides, with four inches of the vertebral column missing, how are they certain that the tail part (which is not even connected to the rest of the snake) actually belongs to the snake and not a lizard?

Also, doesn't the Bible tell us that God took the legs from the snake at the fall? So what does this REALLY prove? Evolution or that the Bible was right all along?

Well, while I agree with you, remember what Genesis says about the serpent losing it';s legs as punishment for the whole Eve thing. I think this will end up as a stalemate.

(and robgentl is right. When I die, if I become a fossil, it will be a transitional fossil. this is what they don't understand.)

That shows evolution with in a species. I believe in that. I just don't believe in evolution of the mind. Let me know when that lizard or snake has a conscience and has the ability to invent and ponder like a human.

Lol ,one so called leg..it was darker in color

I could take an exay and make a leg or arm on anything

    good try,

They will simply ignore it, like they did all the other transitional fossils.

Evolution is surely impossible..things cannot evolve as scientist say they did. Science is evolution.
