    The statistic speak for themselves:

    1. Hits - Clemente, 3,000; Sosa, 2,408

    2. Lifetime Avg - Clemente, .317; Sosa, .273

    3. Gold Gloves - Clemente, 12; Sosa, 0

    4. Batting Titles - Clemente, 4; Sosa, 0

    5. MVP - Clemente, 2; Sosa, 1

    * The only significant categories Sosa has an edge on Clemente are HRs (609-240) and RBIs (1,667- 1,305). Both Players played for 18 seasons.

Sammy Sosa Because he was a career Home Run Hitter and he was Given Second Chance last Year, Nobody given that to Barry Bonds and Clemente I take nothing away from him He did everything Right on and Off the Field and I Respect him for that But His Life was Cut Short 12/31/1972, Would've been Nice to see him alive as a player.

Are you kidding me? Clemente was a way better all-around player...better for a clubhouse, too. That makes a difference on the field if your teammates respect. Sosa's had some problems there.

Not sure what you are asking. Clemente was a 5 tool player that was one of the greatest outfielders of his era, if not all time.

He not only was talented, he played the game with the grace and style so few players have.

Sosa was a decent outfield prospect who went from a skinny medium powered OF to an absolute power beast, almost doubling in size from when he joined the league.

How he got there is up to speculation, but he certainly gained a tremendous amount of size and muscle in a very short period of time, which is certainly a subject of speculation, particularly since he got caught corking his bat (a sign he isn't adverse to cheating).

He was a bad defensive outfielder, struck out way too much, was a bad clubhouse teammate, and had none of the grace and class of Clemente.

He was a tremendous power hitter and for a brief time a very scary hitter, but not much more.

Clemente was agreat player who died way to early whil;e on a mission of mercy. Sosa isn't even in the same league. He never was the caliber player that Clemente was.

I can prove Sosa shrunk by about 30% while he took a "sabbatical"....

He isn't fit to carry Roberto's dirty laundry. Don't even put their names in the same sentence... It's an insult to Clemente's memory.

    Clemente.

This question can not be asked by a serious baseball person - must be a Cubs fan. Sosa couldn't hold Clemente's jock strap.

Clemente was 100 times better defensively.
