Do you self-diagnosis your problems?

If so, and you find there truly is a problem, do you seek self-help or professional help?

Update:

I meant 'self-diagnose', lol

Yes. I "dealt" with them. That's the reason I'm in the shape I am. :) I have had professional help. That's another reason I'm in the shape I am. I can't figure out why I'm in the shape I am. A case of beer will get me out of this one. I've been getting too serious lately.

    1. I have been diagnosed with different disabilities. I once self diagnosed with ADD and it turned out I was actually diagnosed with it in 4th grade. I was even diagnosed with a language processing disorder. I no longer do self diagnosing since it's the doctor's job and I could be wrong. 2. I think it depends on why the person is going for a diagnoses. I think mine was important because I was still in school and I needed help and my mom didn't fully understand me. She didn't know what I had and knew I had something but didn't know what it was. But the bad part is it keeps you from getting health insurance and joining the army. 3. I see everyone as normal and no different. My thoughts don't change when I hear they have something wrong with them. But I do believe some abuse things like spending less money for a bus pass when they can afford the whole thing or trying to cut in lines at Disneyland or Disney World just because they have that privilege for people with disabilities. 4. I don't understand why some feel the need to wave their label around. I think some put it in their signatures on the forum because they want to be understood better and not be mistaken as a troll or be seen as stupid and uneducated. I don't take the self diagnosed as seriously because I know for a fact they may not have what they claim to have and they think they do.

Seeking and finding help within financial reach are two VERY different things. Yes, I self diagnose and it almost killed me but I STILL do it and hope for the best. I had alot of minor problems that I found perfectly logical explanations for. When my bladder control problems got bad and medical help became available in a very strange and round about sort of way,I went in. Turns out that all the minor but accelerating problems were due to "Fred". Fred was a giant slow growth fibroid tumor that had prob been with me and growing for past 16 yrs. He was almost 20 inches in diameter and weighed six pounds. It took two major surgeries and alot of reconstructive work to evict him and repair all the damage. I was a very lucky woman in alot of ways and still think of him every time I pick up a bag of sugar.[ most are only 4lbs now,but still...........]

I do Analise my problems and I do, if the need be, go for professional help, not necessarily because I see there IS a problem, but I do if i feel I cannot solve the problem.

I tend to ignore them and hope they go away, but three monthly check-ups are a lot of help, to keep me healthy(ish)
