Regarding immigration terminology, it is true that the term "alien" is applied to legal and illegal people

who are not citizens of the USA?

Update:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration_t...

Then, it is true that the USA is a nation of legal and illegal aliens? A nation of aliens?

Yes it's true. There's nationalized aliens legal aliens and illegal aliens. I wish some ppl would learn the difference between a legal alien and a citizen myself. SOME ppl think a visa means citizenship for some crazy reason. Which is why so many ppl were against SOME ppl getting a visa with the act proposed last year. They thought the ppl who got the visas would be allowed to vote and have full rights as a citizen. Now that was uneducated.

Both legal or illegal immigrants are considered ALIEN. If they become U.S. citizens the term Alien is no longer applied to them.

    alien refers to non-citizens.

BTW, "immigrant" refers to those that are LEGALLY working toward citizenship vs. the ILLEGAL ALIENS or someone that is "undocumented" that shouldn't be here. In spit of that Harry Reid says, there is no such thing and an "undocumented citizen."

    Immigrant or illegal alien.

Illegal Immigrant is not correct. And undocumented worker isn't either. Just another way of saying "illegal alien."

Yes---a weird terminology indeed--when thinking about aliens, usually "...from out of space" is the first thing that comes to mind....

I am not opposed to nor offended by the word alien. So feel free to apply it to both types.

However, I am extremely opposed to and offended by ILLEGAL alien CRIMINALS.
