Why is tall considered desirable for women in the mainstream US culture?

It is just a cultural thing. I find people of all colors, sizes and shapes beautiful. They also say a woman in the mainstream US culture should be reed thin and anorexic, if you go by what media puts out. Who cares what those bone heads think? I think it is time we celebrate being ourselves! The way God made us!

Being almost 6' tall myself, I find that is just not true. Shorter women than myself are seen as more feminine and desirable. Generally women are usually shorter than men in hetro couples. Near as I can tell, "the white standard" (my that's a bit racist...) is that small feminine women are more desireable to the mainstream.

I'm almost 6 foot tall, and I get teased haha, I always have even now that I'm done with school and all that. I'm even an inch taller than my boy. But everybody likes something different, some like tall people, some like short...

This is not the American standard. It is the Modelling standard world wide.

If you are attracted to men who prefer tall white women, perhaps you should reconsider who you are attracted to. :o)

I'm 5'2 and men of all heights and cultures find me attractive =)
