do you think this is strange?
i have been doing this for as long as i can remember and some people that know about it thinks is weird. I smell the inside of my drinking glasses before i use them and rinse them out with water as well. i think its because some ppl. put thier cups upside on a towel when drying them and it makes them smell nasty.so i seem to smell all of them tho. do you have any strange habits?..or think this is weird?

I don't think its strange at all! I always smell the glass too. I think your towel theory has merit but on top of that I think that cupboards have smells too from the materials they were made from and the finish they put on the wood. I once lived in an apartment where I would swear the former tenant or owner set off a roach bomb or something and every glass in the cupboard was stinky. Had to rinse everyone before I could drink out of it.
If you are going to drink from a glass you want to smell that drink not some foreign item.

I do that at this house because my dad drinks this really smelly stuff that ruins all the glasses and cups that we have with a horrible smell! If you drink water out of one of those glasses or cups, and it sits for any length of time at all, the water starts to taste like that smell!!! EWE!!!
I don't blame you a bit. In fact, I started buying disposable cups that I keep in my own cabinet and I use those now.

It's not strange, but you should do it discreetly. If others are noticing you doing this at their house they may take offence to it. Like you did not trust that the cup they just gave you as not being good enough. Gramma had just pulled out her company glasses that she stored in the china cabinet and poured a glass of water. Mine had a few floaties in it. I discreetly walked around with my glass and when she was busy with something else I dumped and rinsed it. I didn't want her to be embarrassed.
